Divergent Alt Au Idea
Still post apocalypse, and Chicago initially was a test city. However, wars broke out across America (and maybe other nations), most of the test cities were entirely ignored with the assumption that they would just destroy themselves without the support of the gov and experiment overseers.
Eventually nothing is left beyond a few of those test cities, the outside world is void of human life.
So in this world, Chicago eventually decides on having small groups to go out and explore the abandoned world. Several Dauntless for protection, a few Erudite for research, an Amity or two to help with foraging and food. A new job or Erudites also exists for history, research of found artifacts, and discovery of lost science (like astrology, quantum physics, etc based on research books they find), and creating technology to continue studying the learned sciences.
Finally got Tris kinda figured out
I just looked up all the nicknames for Beatrice and took Trix bc it’s one letter off but sounds noticeably better

I just heard someone say that Four from Divergent ends up with Christine after Tris dies and listen, I read that book centuries ago but WHAT. I never read his book because I was traumatized, now i hear this. I loved Tris and Tobias sm, this hurts.

When I start to read Divergent and people warn me that Tris will become annoying due to her suffering from guilt over Will, and her parents death, along with her anxiety
When I start to read Hunger Games and people warn me about Katniss becoming annoying due to her extreme anxiety, self doubt, and mental exhaustion
Me when people complain about characters going through realistic emotions and ptsd from traumatic events or harsh childhood
I cannot be the only person who prefers it when the character suffers and struggles to heal after trauma events because it makes them real, it brings light to mental health, it makes the character and their story stronger, more meaningful.
Trauma takes years of healing and even then it remains an unfading scar. Everyone reacts different, copes differently, and heals differently.
Defending mental health of people, and defending characters from people who find them annoying and/or call them weak for struggling with mental health, is a hill I will die on.
As an end note
Mental health matters, you matter. The people who will treat you right, who will love you, and care for you, they are either already at your side or somewhere out there waiting to find you.
rewatching divergent and it’s so funny because tris showing her divergent “side” in the sims is just like normal human behavior
