i feel a deep yearning for something more than this. life should not be this mundane. existence should not be waking, working, sleeping, and repeating. i dream of discovery, of a life spent wandering. i ache for sunrises over trees i did not see yesterday and sunsets behind unfamiliar coasts. we were promised a life of ease and happiness with more at our fingertips, but all there is left is a flat grey film over our eyes. i feel shackled, bound and gagged. i want to break my bonds and travel. i want to risk everything just to see what is over the horizon. i am weary of the day to day monotony. the boulder and the mountain have been replaced by dollar signs and signatures of men who won’t live out the decade.
