For context: Vesper is an old name for the Evening Star (Hespherus in ancient Greek).

Both the Evening Star and the Morning Star are the same celestial body: planet Venus. Yes, the brightest star is actually a planet. :D

Implied: Vesper can actually be called many, many names. Including Venus, including Phosphorus, including The Evening Star and the Czech versions such as Večernice.
