If you have a parental f/o, please know that they will always come to pick you up when you ask. No matter how late, no matter how far, no matter the circumstances: they will always bring you home.
Whether you live together or live apart, whether they know you were out or you kept it a secret, whether this is planned or sudden, no matter what you've been doing or where you've been... all they ask is where you are, and they'll be there. Without fail, without question, every time.
Whilst you travel home, they make sure you're comfortable: they'll bring snacks and drinks if they suspect you might not have had anything in a while, lend you a towel if it's been raining, or a soft, warm blanket if it's been cold. They hand you any accommodations you might need to help stay calm or relieve pain, and they're always ready with items or stim toys they know bring you comfort.
They make the journey back as comforting and restful as they can, and after some practice, they seem to do it without even thinking about it—being considerate with you seems to come as easily as breathing, and it's painfully, wonderfully obvious how much they think about your needs through their actions.
Your parent always takes the time to talk if you want, too: if something bad has happened or they find you in tears, they softly ask what happened as they pick you up, drawing you into a hug if you want one. They're happy for you to take all the time you need to simply be with them before you start to make your way home.
If it's been a fun outing, they're thrilled to hear about it: you notice out of the corner of your eye that they're smiling whilst you talk, fondness softening their features even whilst they focus on getting you both home.
Either way, they cherish the time they get to learn about how you're doing, uplifting you in every way they know how.
And if you don't want to talk about it? That's okay too. They're happy to fill the time with how their own day went or travel back in peaceful silence. It's comfortable, easy, and their comforting, steady presence settles over you like a blanket.
When you get home, they're happy help you get back inside and make sure you're comfortable, even if you don't live together. They'll make sure you've had something to eat, get the chance to change into something cosy, and will stay with you as long as you want their company. They love getting to spend the extra time with you, no matter the circumstances.
You are worth the effort, every time. Knowing that you're comfortable enough to ask them for help when you need it—even when it's just getting a quick trip home—leaves them brimming with pride. Knowing you're back home safe and sound means more to them than words can say.
