The hawk in the film adaptation of H is for Hawk was amazing! She was so consistently comfortable and confident even in bust streets, and they had some adorable sequences showing that hawks can be incredibly cute (turning her head upside down and throwing paper balls).
I loved the beginning where she’s supposed to be fearful and uncomfortable but she’s just a chill bird having a chill time. Even when she’d bate, she never looked particularly uncomfortable before or afterwards, and part of me wonders whether they were cuing her to bate from off screen.
With all the weird uncanny cgi animals, it’s nice to see a real animal in a movie done so well, especially a Goshawk! They can tend to be higher stress and more difficult to work with, but this was obviously a very well trained and habituated bird. Absolutely gorgeous bird
…also her feet were incredible… so big… puts Wyatt’s tiny feet to shame. I want to think they made hunting look to easy though… Wyatt and I continue to struggle.

just learned that there's an upcoming television show, legacy of spies, that will adapting some of the george smiley books and i am SO fascinated by some of the casting choices because some of them i can really see (hugh laurie as control, dan stevens as bill haydon) and others i can't quite wrap my head around (matthew mcfayden as george smiley, joe alwyn as jim prideaux). not sure anything could top the 2011 movie with gary oldman for me personally but i will have to keep an eye on it.

Another set in anime style (and my coloring nightmare) done long ago, prompted by @meripihka7 who once talked about how TSC could make a great anime! Warn you, though, that it was Google who handled all the translation of character intros, where I blended in some white lies to avoid … spoilers to the audience who actually do not exist?
My subconscious made me draw Janus and Raes in same posture; possibly it is still grumbling about its failure to ship them properly.
