Ali is not an affectionate person.

She knows it. Ashlyn knows it. We all know it.

Ali is super focused on her career.

She knows it. Ashlyn knows it. We all know it.

So what happened? Kids and retirement.

All the affection that Ali previously gave to Ashlyn has been poured onto the kids (as any mother of two infants would do). Plus Ashlyn found herself outside of a world she had been a part of for 20 years.

A world she shared with her wife.

A world Ali was still a part of.

A mature person would have tried to solve the problem, to step forward and take responsibility.

Maybe asking questions. Maybe putting aside the ego for 5 minutes. Maybe having patience.

But not Ashlyn Harris ladies and gentlemen.

The solution that her brilliant and empathetic mind gave birth to was: open marriage. 😒

So put yourself in Ali's shoes for a second: you're wrapping up a stellar career, you have two young children, a dying father, and a wife who keeps telling you that she feels special, that she needs sleep, and that if you're not willing to give it to her, she'll suggest an open marriage.

Because the only thing she really cares about is herself. And she's doing it now!

She literally said that in Sophia's place there could have been anyone: she just wanted attention and intimacy, Sophia was there and so...

As I was reading this part I was like, "Do I have to feel sorry for Sophia Bush now?!" 😅😂

And this is the biggest reason, among many, why their relationship is extremely unhealthy.

I find it disgusting what she has done and said.

I find it disgusting that she never takes responsibility, that she always blames others.

And I find this belief that she is special truly pathetic.

Who the hell do you think you are Ashlyn Harris?!

You were so keen to prove that gay couples are equal to straight ones, that you behaved like the worst husband.

Watching UTB had me 🤤..

But Fancy Dance & this opening scene took me out!

Me too! I've been so slow to actually fill them, but it's been very fun to write some fic again. And thank yooouuu, this was a really fun one to write.

Your head caught in a waking dream Cam x Rebecca. Under the Bridge. Mature, 1.7k words.

Her apartment, Brooklyn, three, four, five hours later.

Cam next to her in bed, body cast Rubenesque beneath the hazy glow of the street lights outside her window. A fresh hickey blooms at her collarbone, the light of Rebecca’s intentions, attractions, honing in. She wonders if Cam can feel it grow, if it holds her, not like a tightly-pulled lasso but an endless sort of embrace.

“You still haven’t told me if you liked it,” Rebecca says, and she’s naked too, thinner than she’s ever been (or at least that’s what it had felt like, when Cam had frowned at her ribs when she took her shirt off, thumb brushing the grooves between her bones like she could excavate her bruised and fragile heart through them), curled up in her sheets beside her, and Cam laughs, something soft and tired.

“You talked about Warren too much,” she allows, and then, like she reads something in Rebecca’s expression, or perhaps feels something in herself, adds: “You’re a good writer.”

And, well.

“I know.”

“Modest too,” Cam says, sarcasm thick in her voice, and now it’s Rebecca who’s laughing, the sound foreign even to her own ears (the last time she laughed, was it back in Victoria with Cam too?) and she reaches for the other woman’s face, finds the soft, warm skin there, lets her own fingers trail the familiar plains of her.
