As a white person raised in a white supremacist society, you’re gonna fuck up sometimes. That’s just a fact. But racialized people often aren’t able/comfortable speaking up when y’all do some shit because of the power imbalance/not feeling up to educating when you may be resistant/don’t think the “fight” will be Worth It.

Show initiative without making it A Struggle or playing the white guilt card. Show you actually care about them, their struggles, and the way you interact with them BEFORE they have to have a bigger Conversation with you, beyond when they need to yell about someone else being racist.

Even close friends or partners are not necessarily safe. I have had partners dismiss accusations of racism just off hand, I have had partners treat me like a repository for knowledge on Muslim cultural practices despite the fact that *my family has been Christian since Jesus,* hell I have had a partner say I was overplaying my pain at the genocide to get sympathy.

IF YOU ARE WHITE YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE FIRST STEP OR YOU ARE JUST PUTTING MORE LABOR AND DANGER ON YOUR RACIALIZED FRIENDS FOR YOUR FUCKING COMFORT

I contemplate the happy faces of people around me here in Ireland and reminisce about the happy normal life my family and I had before the war. A life that turned into a distant memory for us and was replaced by an unending series of horrible nightmares.

Unlike my family in Gaza, people here have access to drinking water, all types of food, electricity, and a roof over their heads. Above all, they are safe, and I cannot help but wonder if they genuinely do appreciate these blessings in their lives enough.

People seem relaxed and laughing wholeheartedly around me in Ireland. I wish I could laugh too, but I am crushed way beyond recovery on the inside. I was evacuated by my Irish college after five months of living the horrors of war in Gaza. I hope you will never know what it feels like to live in constant fear and worry and be horrified by the most sickening and scary nightmares every single night while you are far away from your family in such circumstances.

When did my people in Gaza cease to be human beings worthy and deserving of a normal life? Has it become normal now for my family in Gaza to be starved and killed while the whole world is watching the genocide? If that is the case, then you will have to excuse me if I seek every avenue to bring them to Ireland and start a new normal life like all people here around me.

I was assured by the Irish Reugee Council (IRC) and lawyers in Ireland that there is hope I can reunite with my family in Ireland. In difficult times, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For me and my family, you are literally our light and hope for a better life.

Please do NOT give up on my family in Gaza!

After months of uncertainty, we finally have a glimmer of hope. My wife is expected to evacuate to Ireland in early August with the support of my Irish college. At the same time, other members of my family are hoping to evacuate temporarily to Egypt while they wait for their reunification visas to join us in Ireland.

But we cannot get there without your help.

Every step toward safety comes with overwhelming costs (evacuation, border crossings, temporary accommodation, travel, visa expenses, and the challenge of rebuilding our lives after everything we have lost). These expenses are simply beyond our family's means.

A whistleblower just revealed what DOGE planned to do to 2.7 million living people.

Declare them dead.

Not metaphorically. In the Social Security Administration's Death Master File -- the database banks, employers, and government agencies use to determine whether someone is alive. Once you're in it, your wages stop. Your bank accounts freeze. Your credit disappears. Your benefits end.

The plan, according to former SSA executive Jeremiah Schofield, was explicit. DOGE official Jon Koval stated the goal directly: people would either self-deport, or they would show up at a Social Security office to prove they were alive -- and get arrested by ICE.

"That call was one of the most disappointing calls I've been in in my 25-year career," Schofield told the Washington Post. "I was shocked. I couldn't believe what I was hearing."

Schofield refused to implement it. Agency lawyers warned it would violate federal law. The 2.7 million plan was stopped.

But when Schofield sampled those 2.7 million names, he found U.S. citizens. Lawful permanent residents. Teenagers. Senior citizens. A widow receiving survivor benefits.

And a smaller version already happened -- 6,100 immigrants were marked dead last year. Some showed up at Social Security offices to prove they were alive.

Senators Warren and Blumenthal are demanding answers and records preservation today.

Here is what you need to understand: the Death Master File doesn't ask what country you came from. Anyone with a Social Security number is in it. If this administration is permitted to use this weapon against immigrants, the weapon exists for anyone.

A 25-year civil servant said no. That's the only reason it stopped.

Seattle Children’s Hospital provides care to kiddos in intensive care, and a ton of other services as well. Due to how the Pacific Northwest is, it’s the best hospital to go to in the entirety of Washington, and Idaho tbh. Not sure about Oregon. If a kiddo is in intensive care there’s a good chance they’ll go there.

The residents of the neighborhood surrounding the hospital have lobbied and paid off the hospital to get people in the neighborhood on the board that makes these sort of decisions. This is because they are rich jackasses.

Helicopters transferring life-or-death situation kiddos are being forced to land at a helipad a mile away (1.3 km) because the residents of the neighborhood “don’t like the loud noise of helicopters.”

Dying kids. Forced to land a mile away. And take an ambulance the rest of the way to the hospital. Because wealthy assholes can’t buy a pack of cheap earplugs.

For reference, this is the size of those states compared to other places in the world. Kids from cities across the landmass that those three highlighted shapes take up will go to that hospital for critical care and be forced to land a mile away because “noise.”
