Dai Sato (born 1969) is a prolific Japanese screenwriter. He is widely recognized for his work on iconic sci-fi and action anime like Cowboy Bebop, Ergo Proxy, Samurai Champloo, Wolfs Rain, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Pokemon:Horizons and Eureka Seven. He began his career at 19 as a scriptwriter and lyricist before expanding into the video game and music industries. He also owned Frogman - japans first techno label.

FREQ is set in a world where sound frequencies are the prevalent societal technology governing everyday life. The primary energy resource is also called FREQ, a powerful byproduct of clashing sound frequencies. The story follows Akai, Octa, and the Electribe on their journey to break the hegemony of the ruling class, with the goal of making FREQ a source that everyone can access.

In our second Kickstarter campaign, we aim to build on the incredible momentum of our first campaign, We now seek to fund the production costs of our Volume #1 A4 booklet (EN Version) - 20 000 EUR is the first target. With many more stretch goals unlocked if we hit higher numbers!

This booklet contains Chapter 1 : the start of everything. Following Akai’s awakening within the Electribes nomadic convoy, the story plunges into a high-stakes struggle for the energy resource FREQ!

What is your favorite electronic club to get down like Octa?

Thank you for an incredible 2025! To celebrate the occasion, the whole team gathered for a group photo and to restart our Tumblr account again!

We released Chapter #0 and our first manga, saw Chapter 1 previewed in the official Sabukaru magazine, and topped it all off with an exhibition at the Backrooms Kunsthalle Zürich.

We’ve built such a strong community, and we can’t wait to deliver an even more amazing chapter in early 2026. Plus, there are some rumors floating around about an official Japanese version and other collaborations... stay tuned!
