On any given weekday at 4:45pm, this would be a normal sight throughout #Eswatini - school’s out and children are walking home. Except today isn’t just any weekday. It’s the last time we will see this scene for the foreseeable future. Today, the gov’t declared a state of emergency due to COVID-19. Among other measures, schools will close with immediate effect and until further notice. Swaziland, the fight has been brought to your borders. But what we’ve seen in our short time here is that there is a quiet but determined strength within all of you. Named after (but never affiliated with) its historic American counterpart, Woolworths is a SA-based retail chain. There are two retail/food stores here in Eswatini, with this one in Ezulwini being the larger of the two. “Larger” is relative, though, as the food and grocery portion of the store is just six small aisles.
