Once my friend told me that he felt Christian imposter syndrome sometimes because he had never had a big, life altering encounter with God. But we encounter God everywhere. It's in the way you let me sit on your couch and ramble about a breakup when we barely knew each other. It's in sunshine. Laughter. The faces of my friends who have never set foot in a church. It's in all the people who have shown me grace and mercy when I wholly didn't deserve it. It's the ache you've been trying to explain. It's the way that birds just know when to push their babies out of the nest. The way that I have found myself back in church even though no one would blame me if I hadn't. The way that we, creatures from a miniscule part of the universe, not only wanted to, but taught ourselves how to look into deep space. The sound of water flowing along a creek. It's the rhythm of the ocean, beating since before our species existed. You can go your whole life without having a big, come-to-jesus, altar call moment when you were "saved," and that's ok. Your faith doesn't have to run on adrenaline highs and intensity. God's in the still small voice. All the little miracles around you.
Tried to hike to a Forrest pilgrims church today.
I say i tried because there was a big river and i spend like 2 hours trying to get over it and then I regretted choosing the starting point with the extra 10kilometers.
Today I’ve learned a lesson about pride and waking up earlier i guess. But i prayed the rosary and enjoyed this beautiful nature God gifted us to appreciate. I’ll try again next week and hopefully post some pictures for y’all
it’s really funny that “tradcath” means the exact opposite of what you’d expect etymologically speaking
A “traditional Catholic” is any randomly generated Mexican that has attended Sunday mass and thoughtlessly agreed with papal writ their entire life. A “tradcath” is a United States Protestant

Beautiful Rosary I found on the flee market.
It dates back to somewhere between 1914 and 1930. The backside of the medal shows us it’s from the „Schönstatt“ group a Merian Group founded in 1914.
The group was suppressed during the Nazi regime what makes me belive the rosary was produced before or in the early years of their reign .
The seller told me he thinks it’s should date to the early 1900,s to.
The front of the medal with the beutiful detailed picture of the Mother of God has the words „a servant of Mary will never parish“ written in Latin
The little bag wich from the smell and materials I guess is as old as the rosary has the words „my companion“ in German on it.
The beets and the cross seems to be made out of Perlmutt.
the trick to being a good Christian is to see everybody/everything asa little piece of god. hugging my boyfriends cat right now and all I can think when I bury my head in his purring tummy is "there's a little bit of god in there. this is what being close to god feels like is being close to love and this cat is full of it"

Jesus is the Palestinian child bleeding out in his father’s arms.
Jesus is the Sudanese girl, cowering in fear under her bed.
Jesus is the disabled man on the side of the street who you mocked and took videos of.
Jesus is the homeless woman asleep on the bench who you couldn’t care to help.
Blessed Good Friday everyone <3 btw no pretty pastel sanitized crucifixions and cute gentle weeping Mary's please!! Christ was horrifically tortured on every inch of His body to the point where His bones where likely visible and yet He didn't die until His arms where nailed wide open to take on the sins of the world!!! Mary was spiritually crucified since she felt everything Jesus went through in her heart and as a mother she was likely in extremely profound grievance and anguish!!!! Please bring the gravity of Christs Passion back into art!!!!!!

This is ‘Un-alived J3sus.’ Full reflection titled: "we ought to not look away: a small reflection on suffering, witness, censorship and the Crucifixion" up on my (free) substack
[ ID: Digital painting, in black and white, of a crucified Jesus Christ, blurry and pixilated. /End ID ]
"The average Passion portrayal in art seems arguably palatable in comparison to a culture desensitised to violence. He is a hairless, white, well-toned and tragically beautiful man. The blood is kept at a minimum, and what it says about institutionalised brutality and violence against marginalised Brown bodies (people!!!) must never, under any circumstance, be addressed..." - from the substack essay linked above
Found this beautiful depiction of Mary’s apparition in Lourdes in a second hand shop.
I taped a transport tube from work next to her and gave her a carnation and some laurel just wanted to show off have a blessed day

christian zionists say they want to level Gaza and build the third temple so Jesus can return, but what do they plan to say when they look Him in the eye?
"do you like the temple we built You? we built it on the bones of children. we built it by denying food to the hungry, and medicine to the sick. we killed the healers and the truth tellers, and we killed them for You. that's how much we love You, don't you see?"
but the Lord will not see, for His eyes will be too filled with tears.

sometimes praying the rosary is just about mother mary keeping you company
"We must not seek the Child Jesus in the pretty figures of our Christmas cribs. We must seek him among the undernourished children who have gone to bed at night with nothing to eat..." -St. Oscar Romero, Dec 24, 1979.
