part of lucas wanted to pretend he didn’t hear at all or excuse himself that this was all about the movie – yet her words had something soothing, relieving to him. he wasn’t alone. no matter how his family treated him, there were others out there who would’ve made similar decisions like him – ones who weren’t paris of troy. “ yes. i suppose that’s true. ” he responded as he paused the movie.

   “what’s this movie ---”      that was a word she’d recently learned.      “ --- about? other than love from the sounds of it,”     thin smile, she sits besides him and still tugs at her curls. this entire world is difficult to navigate, but at least conversation was easy to make --- EVERYTHING was interesting to padme.

          “i’m not entirely sure what a shark is. but if you’re preaching on the street corner it must be important to you --- is there a WAY i can help you, or the sharks?”            she chooses to ignore being called self righteous, wondering what sort of near-human he is as she cards her fingers through her hair. honestly no good comes from questioning the CONVICTIONS of anyone you find yelling at a poster. --- better to ask what sort of action they’d have to take.

“your GALAXY? are you one of those people? you know, area 51 enthusiast, always believing your aliens will come back to EARTH?” eyebrows knitted together slightly confused. 

          “--- what’ the significance of AREA 51?”     padme asks first, her tongue pressing down against her lip as she listens to the other woman.     “come BACK to earth? is that the name of this planet? i had wondered by where were ONLY humans here but i didn’t realize the other species had LEFT.”

          “none of us should have to choose how we die. it’s needlessly cruel. i should’ve SEEN it coming, but yet, at the end i was just as blind sided as the rest. i would've rathered it was --- ANYONE but anakin.”

          “i was wondering if you had any --- children’s books perhaps? on your alphabet? maybe that have an accompanying ‘tape’ or ‘video’ that i could check out?”     problem: padme was more than capable of reading and writing --- but only in her own alphabet. the LANGUAGE sounded just the same as the english people spoke here but written completely differently.

          “good on you for getting out of your apartment at least. honestly, this place is so different from my own that i’ve been --- UNSURE of what to do or where to go.”     padme offers a thin smile and pulls to sit properly on the bench, leaving room for the other woman. 

         anger worries her. justified after what she and obi-wan had gone through with anakin.     “it’ll be alright. you just need to --- try and FOCUS on what’s more important than that anger, or else the anger will steal it all from you.”
