24 fem and wiccan. I love dark, beautiful and strange things. Plus animals, music, movies, art, books, video games, comic books, astronomy, cute sweet boys and fierce strong women
Because what is a fandom without a dark, absolutely unhinged take? What if Edwin let Charles die? What if Edwin had been out of Hell for a while, when he met Charles? After all, one doesn’t just come out of Hell and automatically know all the ghost rules, and the border changes on the map (“They were the same country when I was alive”), so we can guess that Edwin was top side for a while. He told Charles that he knew Charles was going to die when he could see Edwin, but what if he lied? What if he knew that people who had near death experiences could see that dead too? There was a chance that Charles could have lived if he received medical aid, but Edwin had been watching Charles for a while. He watched this boy full of so much life, and compassion, and couldn’t help but follow unseen. He saw this bright, beautiful boy, and selfishly wanted to keep him. He saw the way Charles’ own family treated him and thought “I can take better care of him. You don’t deserve him.”
He didn’t make Charles protect the other boy. He didn’t make the boys chase him into the lake and throw rocks. But he knew Charles now better than the other boy could know, and knew how he would repay kindness tenfold. When Charles could see him in that attic, Edwin knew that if he stayed with Charles for one night, that Charles would stay with him for eternity.
Well, if you're going for a dark universe, then you can have Charles figuring this out multiple times over the years and trying to escape only for Edwin to find him and wipe his memories.

=> La'an and Spock do some important research on a break from their dance lessons
"Research?"
"Reasearch."
"With a movie?"
"An ancient classic of timeless importance, according to my sources."
[...]
"Would it not be more logical to watch footage of real professional dancers instead of actors pretending to be dancers?"
"The actors had dancing exerience, but the female lead must overcome her inexperience and physical and emotional challenges to learn the dance routines. Sounds familiar?"
"It does sound intriguing though I am uncertain how much I will be able to relate."
"If it it helps, I can start calling you "Baby" during our dance rehearsals from now on."
[...]
"This lift while impressive seems impractical unless you have the enhanced strength and skill of a Vulcan. Which I do have... We should start practicing instantly."
"If you say so... wait, what???"
[...]
"Once more I would like to apologize for bumping your head against the ceiling during the lift."
"For that I'll make you watch that awful movie about the anthropomorphic dancing cats next."
(this is one edit split in two, please don't kill me for bending the rules a little, i know i'm not leading by a good example 🥺)
La’ an laid in bed, staring up at the ceiling waiting for sleep to finally take her. Despite her exhaustion, she couldn’t get her mind to settle long enough. She turned to the dresser a few feet away from her, staring at the top drawer, one she kept empty. The sole item in the drawer was a clean pair of black socks, neatly folded and placed carefully in the corner as if to leave space for more in the future.
Beside her, the bed was empty, a sensation La’an was beginning to realize she hated. Spending nights curled in Spock’s arms had become a solace to her and after he pulled her back from the brink while she was Vulcan, her feelings for him deepened in a way she had never felt before.
The days following, avoided long conversations with Spock if they were unnecessary, feeling too raw after the encounter, but spending so much time without him felt wrong. She spent so much time avoiding putting a label on the relationship, that she ignored the depths of her own feelings for him.
How here she was laying awake in the middle of the night wishing he was there.
“Fuck it,” La’an muttered as she slid from her bed and dragged on a sweatshirt to go with her pajama pants. She slid on a pair of slippers and left her room, heading directly for Spock’s. The entire way, she contemplated what she could possibly say to him. She had so many thoughts and ideas, it wasn’t until she was at his door and ringing his call button that she realized she had no idea how to even begin.
Before she could abandon her half baked plan, Spock’s door slid open and he stood on the other side looking just as put together as any other time, though La’an could tell he was tired.
“La’an, is everything alright?” Spock asked, his voice exposing his concern and shock at her presence.
“I’m fine. I… I just...wanted to ...see you.” La’an mentally berated herself or not even being able to speak coherently. Te admission though made Spock’s eye widen.
“Of course,” He replied, almost wistfully as he stepped aside and motioned for La’an to enter.
Stepping into Spock’s quarters, La’an didn’t move far inside, even as Spock passed her. She wrung her hands behind her back still trying to find the words she wanted to say.
“Is something bothering you?” Spock asked, bringing La’an back into the present. She looked at him with his Vulcan stoicism relaxed to display his concern. “You do not usually come to my quarters unannounced.”
La’an swallowed, then looked back down to the floor. She didn’t think she could look at him as she said what she wanted. “I wanted to talk to you about something.”
“What would you like to discuss?” Spock inquired. La’an could see the edges of his slippers in her peripheral.
“Us.”
“Is something in our relationship displeasing to you?” La’an could hear the fear in Spock’s voice as he asked and she felt horrible for causing it.
“No...not at all. I just…” La’an sighed heavily, then clenched and relaxed her fists. She mustered as much courage as she could and looked Spock directly in the eye. “I was laying in bed and I couldn’t sleep. All I could think about was how much I wanted you to be there with me. I…”
La’an looked back down at her feet fighting to find the best words. She sensed Spock’s presence grow ever so slightly closer and it calmed her. She looked back up at him as he stared at her with anticipation. Her mind settled and the words she wanted to say began to flow from her lips.
“I don’t know if I would call it ‘love’, but I know that you make me feel safe and seen. I know your presence brings me joy and peace. It’s been a long time since I’ve had that. I don’t want to let it go. I don’t want to let you go.”
La’an watched Spock’s face shift. He didn’t emote as openly as a human, but it was in the shift of his eyebrows. The way they lifted subtly and the way the corner of his lips lifted. He stepped up to La’an, reaching down and intertwining their fingers. La’an was still trying to understand the nature of Vulcan touch telepathy, but she could say without argument that holding his hand settled her unlike anything else did.
“Would you like to stay with me?” Spock’s voice was gentle, as gentle as the day they first kissed. La’an sensed there was more he wanted to ask, but he seemed thrilled at her confession, no matter how stilted it was. This was his way of accepting. She smiled up at him, squeezing his hand gently.
“Of course,” La’an cooed.
It wasn’t a grand gesture or even a declaration of undying love, but the small step of acknowledging her feelings for him was enough. As La’an followed Spock to his bed, she couldn’t help but imagine doing this every evening. The thought made her smile as she looked at Spock, a man others would consider cold and distant, a man who she knew was anything but.
Perhaps, she was ready to leave her own pair of socks in the drawer she knew he left empty for her.

AVATAR MASTERLIST
So'lek hadn't planned this, and he was at a complete loss as to what to do. He was in the middle of the forest, with a little girl clinging to his leg. He had found her by total accident. He had been informed of an explosion near one of the RDA facilities. He was supposed to be accompanying Sarentu; it was just going to be a quiet patrol. To check that none of his people had been injured. However, here he was, standing still, looking at the strange creature. He felt that if that little creature kept touching him, he would catch something. Small human creatures were something So'lek had only heard about, and that was because Priya never stopped talking about how adorable they are.
"Ba baba.aaba," says the little one, sitting on the muddy jungle floor, looking at the man. Meanwhile, So'lek continues to look around in confusion. This little creature must have her family somewhere, So'lek thought as he began to hear the creature's cries. "No... be quiet," So'lek said firmly, pushing the little girl away slightly with his foot. This made the girl even more upset and she cried louder. So'lek didn't know what to do. It was starting to rain, and he wasn't going to take that thing with him. It could be dangerous... or not? "Hey... shall we go?" asks Sarentu, approaching So'lek and standing in shock at the scene. Next to him was a baby. She runs towards the girl and picks her up from the ground. "Awww, look what we have here," says Sarentu, taking the girl in her arms. But in a quick movement, So'lek takes her away and puts her back on the ground. "Don't touch her, she could be dangerous," says So'lek as he wipes his hands.
Sarentu laughs, while the little girl starts crying again. "Where did you get her?" asks Sarentu, examining the creature from afar. "She came to me... and touched me," says So'lek, looking as if he were afraid of the tiny thing. "They are the cubs of humans, that's what they look like... they are very vulnerable. We can't leave her here," says Sarentu. "Her parents should come for her... it's better not to touch her," says So'lek, watching as the creature stops crying and comes closer again. Now using his leg to stand up and raise her arms so that So'lek can carry her. "No... go away," says So'lek, moving away a little. But it was in vain... because, unfortunately for him, the dangerous creature was walking. "I already checked the area... and I don't think there are any survivors," Sarentu says sadly. Apparently, the little girl had survived.
"Well... it's not our problem," So'lek was about to leave, but someone was already holding his leg tightly. When he moved, the little girl started to laugh. Sarentu had to laugh too; she was adorable. "Apparently, she likes you a lot... come on, we have to take her to the shelter," said the girl, walking away from So'lek. "Hey!!! Don't leave me here with this thing," said So'lek, seeing that his complaints were being ignored. He pulled away from the girl's grip and walked a little further away. But he stops short when he hears crying. He tried to ignore it, but he didn't have the heart to do that. Turning around to look, the girl was crying on the ground... the rain had already wet her a little. In the distance, he could see the smoke rising from what was once her home. He sighed dramatically, approaching the little girl. So'lek might look tough, but he didn't have the heart to leave that creature there alone. The jungle could be very dangerous...it would be a quick dinner for any animal. In one swift, quick motion, he picked up the girl with one hand, holding her against his forearm. The little girl stopped crying immediately, holding on tight. So'lek didn't know why he was doing this; it was dangerous and foolish. But there he was, flying his ikran, on his way to the shelter.
So'lek arrived at the shelter and handed the girl to Priya, who excitedly checked on her. "From what I can see, she's only one year old... so tiny," said the woman. The people in the shelter couldn't stop looking at her and trying to get the little girl's attention. But she was only looking at So'lek, who was sitting far away... very far away from them. In a corner, he tried to figure out what was going on and why the child was staring at him with such determination. He sighed to himself and left the shelter to continue with his life. As soon as he walked out the security doors, he heard the child begin to cry. But he kept walking.
The days went by, and all so'lek heard was the creature's crying and everyone in the shelter complaining. They didn't know what to do anymore. They had already given her food and played with her. But it was all useless. She had only slept for a few hours, only to wake up and cry. They were slowly going crazy, to the point of leaving the girl alone in a small playpen in the middle of the shelter. Apparently, when she was alone, she calmed down a little. So'lek thought this was stupid and very irresponsible on the part of the group. She was a small baby who was supposed to need attention 24/7, not be left alone to her fate. So, without anyone noticing and very determined about what he was going to do, he waited for the right moment to execute his plan.
One afternoon, when the shelter was empty and some members were asleep, So'lek entered cautiously. Approaching the playground, he saw that the girl was sitting there playing with some blocks that Dr. Alma had left her. "Hello," So'lek said quietly. Seeing how the child looked up at him and gave him a smile, an adorable laugh, melted his heart. This melted the man's heart, but of course... he wasn't going to show it. "Come here... come," So'lek gestured with his hands, watching as the girl got up and walked toward him. Surprisingly silent, she was very determined to reach him. He took her in his arms, bringing her close to his face.
The little girl placed her small hands on So'lek's face and smiled again. For the first time, he could see her clearly. She had messy hair, a small nose, and small eyes. She looked so delicate that she barely weighed anything. He pulled her closer to his chest, watching as the girl calmed down and began to play with his decorations and bulletproof vest. "You like it... I can get something similar for you," So'lek said in a low voice. Calm and kind... a gentle giant. He could smell a peculiar odor coming from the creature. Lifting her into the air, he sniffed her. "Ahhh," So'lek grimaced in disgust. When was the last time you had a bath? He had to do something about it... maybe that was the reason why the girl cried so much.
He decides to leave the shelter, putting the oxygen mask on the girl and holding her in his arms. "I have to make some kind of carrying bag so I can carry you without any problems," So'lek says to himself. He knew the girl didn't understand, but he still told her his future plans. He was walking through the jungle, carrying the little girl to where he used to bathe. When he arrived, he thought for a moment... this shouldn't be difficult or any different from bathing a Na'vi child. To tell the truth, they were very similar. So he carefully removed her clothes and placed the human child in the water. It was a small river, which was the perfect depth. He cleaned the girl, noticing that she didn't complain at all. She was quiet and played with everything she saw. She touched the rocks and some of the vegetation around her, while So'lek continued to clean the little girl's hair.
After the bath, So'lek took some fabric left over from his outfit and placed it around the girl's waist. Trying to create a kind of tewng. "Later I'll make you something better... come here," So'lek took the girl in his arms, settling her in to take her back to the shelter. "We have to feed you... and then I'll look for something to do," he continued talking to himself, feeling the child falling asleep in his arms. He smiled a little to himself. "You also need a name... how about Y/N?" said So'lek, looking at the human child, who was already fast asleep, curled up in his arms. Looking for more warmth. "Y/N, that will be your new name... I'll teach you how to hunt, how to speak Na'vi, we have many things to learn," says So'lek. So'lek didn't know how he had ended up in this situation... but he was sure that this time no one would take his happiness away from him.

Because I love Spider and his feistiness, I noticed while looking at screen caps of AFAA that the Mangkwan took some extra precautions with our favorite Monkey Boy. 🕷️
Obviously, we know Jake and Quaritch are hogtied because they’re stronger and more physically dangerous. The Sully kids have their hands tied behind their backs. And yes, while Spider does have his hands tied behind his back too, you can see in several caps that the knot is also secured by a rope around his stomach.
Guess they didn’t trust this feral, little air breather… 😆🕷️😈
Had noticed this too and intended to make a post about it not gonna lie. I wonder why that is... why would they tie the others normaly but Spider with extra precaution? Mmmmm...
How far off from the OG characters do I take an AU before it's unrecognisable from the source material? I ask while imagining a modern Genderbend AU of DBDA so that Charlotte Rowland can swing one of those massive, metal, status-symbol water bottles like a weapon
Does anyone know if anyone has explored this idea? I wonder if Spock, as a half-human, requires more deep bonds (thyla, marriages, polygamous, etc.) than full Vuclans. Alternatively, if it's easier to make and hold more bonds?

y'know. now that I'm thinking about it. Kiri's/Eywa's blessing didn't really make Spider Na'vi. it didn't give him blue skin or stripes. nor did it change his proportions or give him new appendages or take away ones he had before.
it simply made him Pandoran. gave him two features every creature on Pandora has in some way. a kuru and the ability to breathe.
yes, we most notably see the single kuru in the Na'vi. but they share similar anatomy, that makes sense. but she really didn't do much to make him any more Na'vi than he already was.
lo’ak locking in and trying to follow jake’s instructions only for kiri and spider to run out of the shelter and tuk to get kidnapped by quaritch has gotta be one of the funniest things about afaa my poor son
tuvok and his thing with neelix when he hates him but craves his presence whenever in altered states of conciousness (brain damage, you could argue tuvix) is so funny bc it's world's first case of a man fighting to supress his urges towards another man where the urges are fully platonic. tuvok tossing and turning at night not willing to face himself and admit neelix would make a delightful friend

this is the only thing my brain let me edit this week and it brought me joy.
he just has so many little behaviors and holds himself in such a feline way. even if there are many scenes I can't actually describe what is super feline about it. other than he just. is. he's just a little kibby. whose priorities in 90% of situations is finding the high ground and perching there. and it's funny.
Okay but when will we talk about the fact that hearing about Spider would lowkey be really scary for the normal RDA goon?
Imagine you are on this foreign alien planet light-years away from home. Everything around you wants to kill you specifically and you are constantly being fed propaganda about how cruel and bad this place is. You never know if this trip outside of Bridgehead's walls will be your last or whether or not you'll end up being the meal for some predator.
And then you hear about a human boy living in the forest.
You do not know what his name is or who his parents are. You don't know where he came from or how he even ended up this place. The RDA did not fly him up here, he has no file or identification- as far as anyone knows, he's just suddenly appeared on Pandora and that is it. He walks through the forest dressed in nothing but a loincloth with a mask that never seems to run out of air. Sometimes he doesn't wear a mask at all. None of the animals or plants ever attack him. He has blue painted stripes and is abnormally tall and strong. Whenever he appears, an attack soon follows. He has killed before.
There's a human boy on Pandora and he is not on your side.
