Superman and Lois

I came to this show to watch for Buffy and Giles because THEIR dynamic is not ILLEGAL, and also is one I am missing in my current life! I looked for comfort in the two and have definitely received it, but the fact that Demon over here is preying on Buffy is actually ruining what I thought would be a safe space. NOW, call me woke, a snowflake, or whatever, but what I have said is fact. Someone free my girl.

I get that she’s in pain. I get that she’s been through it. But she’s fucking awful a few times here.

And look, I know I’m about two episodes from one specifically horrific showstopper of a bathroom scene, but I don’t think im open to hearing arguments about whether the attempted sexual assault in 6x19 is worse or better or equal to the fully committed domestic abuse that Buffy inflicted on Spike in 6x13.

Like, the whole thing felt like the showrunners decided to make Spike’s character do one really beyond-the-pale horrific thing to even out the numerous little emotional and physical abuses Buffy meted out on him all season.

I’m not saying spike is an innocent lil baby, but parts of this season have aged like milk and are, in hindsight, very obvious flags that Joss Whedon is a fucking ghoul.
