"sex scenes have no narrative purpose" is such a funny take on so many levels. people will really believe that the whole human experience is valuable to portray artistically except sex, which of course has never held emotional weight or significance for anybody
"what's the purpose of sex scenes in media??" well you see sometimes people have sex. sometimes it can be important even
yeah ok but i dont wanna watch straight sex scene number 1231234837582 in the middle of some movie thats clearly not fucking high art or anything, like please, tell me how the sex scene made jason X a deeper movie ill wait
you genuinely think that "the sex scene in Jason X, the movie about jason from Friday the 13th killing people in space, is bad" is a rebuttal to this point? like genuinely? genuinely? like you think that's the kind of sex scene I was talking about in the original post? you think when I'm talking about the artistic merit of sex scenes in movies you think I'm talking about the bit with the dominatrix in Jason X (2001) dir. James Isaac, the movie where Jason from Friday the 13th gets put in cryosleep and wakes up in the future on a spaceship where he starts killing people in outer space? you genuinely think this is the kind of movie and scene I'm referring to when I'm arguing for the potential artistic value of a type of scene? Jason X? Jason X? the one with Jason on a spaceship? you think that "well Jason X, the movie about Jason on a spaceship killing people in space, is bad" is a rebuttal to my point? Jason X? Jason X? J

It took two whole days but it's done. The concept is simple: AI generated art, sent to a company who does paint by number kits, and then completed by an amateur. It's an interesting thought experiment - at what point is it truly art? Is it ever art, because it's AI generated? Is it ever art, because it's paint by numbers? Is it always art, because it elicits a response from the viewer?

Wow⦠Leon S. Kennedy telling it like it is. No fucks given.
abstract and modern art haters are sooo snobby like klein literally Created an entirely new pigment and then painted a canvas in a way where the brush strokes wouldn't be visible. the insinuation that people with no skill could reproduce that is so annoying because unless you are skilled at color mixing and painting you definitely couldnβt lmao
i hope it's okay to add this because i think it hits the nail directly on the head
Honestly, it's like picking up a book and saying "I know all these words, I can type, I could have written this" like there's no middle step between the technical ability and the finished work.
βwe need to teach media literacy in schoolsβ guys was i really the only person paying attention in english class bffr
not only does this say that it's illegal to call what israel is doing a genocide, which is dystopian enough already, the first paragraph in the screenshot also says this:
It is also a criminal offence to approve of Hamas' terrorist attack. For example, statements that reject the term terrorism in this context and speak of Palestine's right to resist may be punishable.
so yeah, referring to palestinians right to resist, a right which is recognized under international law, can get you punished as well π

yknow with things like hazbin hotel making it as actual shows and just being mediocre it makes me confident about my own work. a bit of worry is placed off my shoulders
if i make a really mediocre piece of media with unclear themes im sure you all will support me
(Pls donate to Care for Gaza if you can, all donations are reaching Palestinians directly, their details are on my page)
I am going to remember this image forever, it will save me so much time

"It's actually your fault that your paranoia is making you misinterpret my post, and in fact you're doing it on purpose"
You sound like my dad when he told me I have anxiety attacks on purpose because I "like the attention"
It's amazing to me that you managed to do exactly what this post is talking about without taking a moment to reflect and recognize that.
