alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

My baby Qais will die because his surgery is delayed. As an oppressed mother in Gaza, I am forced to postpone his surgical procedure βnot by choice, but because this post is ignored and not shared.
I will not forgive anyone who watches my child fade and scrolls past without mercy. One share delays his deathβbut one donation can end this waiting and bring his surgery closer today.
Every minute without a donation steals something from Qaisβhis strength, his breath, his chance to live. I beg you as a mother: please donate now. Your donation is the difference between life and loss.
Please donate now Gofundme
While we wait for a surgery we cannot afford, my baby Qais continues to suffer every day. Time is not standing still for him. Please donate now and help us reach treatment before it becomes too late.
My baby Qais has run out of medicine, and I urgently need to buy a new supply, but I simply do not have the money. To everyone who helped us before, I am begging you from my heartβplease consider supporting Qais again today. Your kindness has kept him going, and he still desperately needs your help.
easy to miss that one of the reasons maternal mortality is diminished so extremely by modern medicine is that modern medicine makes it so much more possible to identify the pregnancies that will die and take you with them, or are otherwise unacceptably high risk. and then discontinue those ones safely, before it's too late.
thought about this because it's so frustrating when people argue that 'dying in childbirth' is a historical sort of event that doesn't happen nowadays (false) and therefore is irrelevant to the legal status of abortion, since it's not a real danger.
except it super is, and i think a lot of people haven't noticed that this argument in addition to simply being incorrect is basically the same as when people say we don't need vaccines for deadly diseases because no one gets those now anyway.
like yeah one reason for that is we vaccinate everybody ffs.
Note: after the end of Roe v Wade in the US, the maternal mortality rate (and the infant mortality rate) are showing clear increases in the states with the strictest anti-abortion laws.
Forcing people to carry high risk or non viable pregnancies to term kills.
Jonathan Joss was an Indigenous, gay man who was murdered on the first day of Pride month as well as Indigenous History Month. He died protecting his trans husband. Homophobia and racism arenβt marks of the past, and this is a heart breaking reminder of that.
Praying for a safe journey back to the spirit world, Uncle β€οΈβπ©Ήπ¦
Today is the anniversary of the death of Jonathan Joss (King of the Hill, Parks and Rec). Jonathan Joss was an Indigenous, gay man who died protecting his transgender husband, on the first day of Pride month. Today we remember him and how he protected his family.

Once when I was in undergrad, someone described something as βproblematicβ in class and our professor was like, βThatβs cool, but βproblematicβ doesnβt really mean anything. It means that the thing youβre describing has a problem, and in and of itself thatβs not bad. Art, especially, should always have problems, or else itβs not interesting and not art, either. It sounds like youβre trying to say that this is bad, but you donβt want to say βbad.β Is that right?β
So from then on whenever one of us called something problematic, he would make us talk it out until we could name the βbadβ thing we were hinting at. In this particular class, 7/10 it was some type of oppression, and the remainder was like, βIβm uncomfortable because this is very new/confusing/pushing boundaries that made me feel safe.β
Once we stopped calling things βproblematicβ and stopping at that, class got way more interesting and... we all had to say, like, βthatβs racistβ or βthatβs misogynisticβ or βew capitalism grossβ out loud, which a lot of us had never done in a classroom before. Or we had to be like, βUhhh... Iβm not sure whatβs so bad?β and confront our own beliefs and that was maybe even more useful.
Anyway. Whenever I see the word problematic, I canβt help but think of this professor being like, βGood starting point, now letβs get specific.β I think when we have to commit to saying βthatβs ___β it requires a lot more careful thought about the truth and impact and complexities of whatever weβre claiming. Sometimes there really is some bullshit afoot, and also sometimes itβs art, and it should be full of problems, because thatβs what art is.
#'this is present in the text' is often a good first step #but those second and third ones (naming it; describing its function) are vital (via @elucubrare)
Women stick thin and malnourished on the red carpet, and people are saying you can't point out that these women are dying because that's body shaming. Girl.

Anyway, I know that a lot of people here on tumblr do not actually buy comics, but I do want to encourage people to think about what you can do to support DCBlackout. I know that I am not a person who's purchases drive metrics at DC comics. I only put in a preorder for comics once in a blue moon, I read digitally, and I buy collected editions, but yesterday I canceled my dcui subscription and while the boycott continues, I'm not going to renew it. While I'll probably still get dc comics through second hand sources here and there, I'm not going to buy any new comics from them either.
There should be more opportunities for black creators at DC and there should be more stories for characters like Nubia, Steel, Vixen, The Signal, Mr Terrific, everyone from Milestone and more.
Even if you're not a comics buyer, you can still sign the petition and you can share your favorite independent comics from black creators. I'll start: Everyone should read Prince of Cats by Ronald Wimberly.
Try and seek out new works and expand your horizons. That's what I'll be doing.
Petition takes seconds to sign!

Hamlet adaptation where Hamlet is a vlogger and all his soliloquies are breakdowns he uploads to YouTube
β¦ I am unironically here for this
this is the funniest thing Iβve ever seen in my life
This is - legitimately - my favourite delivery of Shakespeare I have EVER seen (and I have seen some good-ass productions yo, in the Globe Theatre itself even). Like seriously, even though the words are unchanged, heβs stripped away ALL of the archaic pretense and assumed grandeur of ~presenting the bard~ that makes even the most wildly talented of actors and innovative of productions inherently inaccessible to a modern audience. Like, theyβre still great, they can still communicate the message and (some) of the nuance, but theyβre still always a step removed from being identifiable to any viewerβs lived experience. Theyβre still always reciting 15th century poetry. But this guy? This guy is like, screw iambic pentameter, to hell with being precious about the material, HOW WOULD AN ACTUAL PERSON SAY THIS SHIT?
Like this. And itβs beautiful. Itβs beautiful to hear a soliloquy I loved so much already, and have it come to life in a way it never, ever, did before. I feel like I grasp his motivations, his twists and turns, no longer on an academic level but on a visceral, instinctive one. Because heβs presenting his mental and emotional journey in a way that speaks honestly, like a real person.
So yeah, this shit post? I love it. Deeply and sincerely.
A post about this went round recently, and Iβm delighted to announce sheβs since come out as trans and goes by Jasmine π³οΈββ§οΈ
Actor and Writer
Thereβs a whole series of the Hamlet videos on her YouTube, as well as a bunch of other films sheβs made
sexism in medicine kills people. racism in medicine kills people. fatphobia in medicine kills people. queerphobia in medicine kills people. classism in medicine kills people. ableism in medicine kills people.
do not downplay peopleβs fears about being mistreated because they are a part of a marginalised group. it is a matter of life and death and you should be angry about it.
Y'all if you're American please email your politicians and senators against the parents decide act. I'm fucking begging because we're reaching a tipping point.
Quick and easy link to both find your congressmen/women and giving you a quick and easy way to copy / paste the message into it. You want to oppose. It's an act that will demand that all major OS makers integrate a direct forced age verification control into all OS.
I received a comment on this that I figured would be very helpful- it's a template for communicating with your representatives. Be sure to use it for reference
Dear Representative [Name],
I am writing to express my strong opposition to H.R. 8250 (The "Parents Decide Act"). As your constituent and a concerned citizen, I believe this bill introduces unprecedented risks to digital privacy and security.
Specifically, I am alarmed by:
SEC. 2(a)(1)(B): Requiring age verification to even use an operating system creates a mandatory "hardware lockout" that ends anonymous computing and forces users to hand over sensitive identification data to major corporations just to power on their devices.
SEC. 2(a)(3): Mandating that OS providers create a system for all app developers to access verification data is a massive security vulnerability. This effectively creates a centralized API of user identities accessible to thousands of third-party developers, many of whom may lack adequate data protection.
This bill does not protect children; it creates a centralized surveillance infrastructure at the OS level. I urge you to protect the privacy of your constituents and vote NO on H.R. 8250.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
[Your Zip Code]
This is a hell that us down under in Australia are already living in, and itβs not even effective at what it claims to do in protecting children.
Given that, in the wake of this mandatory identification policy, my country seems to be moving to hand over its citizens biometric data, like fingerprints, Face ID files, and identification documents, over to the USA and to ICE to maintain the visa free travel (ESTA) we have, I strongly urge any US resident to send these emails, or make calls.
But if you canβt do that, the most powerful thing you can do is spread the word. Tell your friends, family, coworkers, anyone who can help.
My reach will likely be small, and so I donβt know if this will mean very much in the grand scheme of things, but I cannot stand to see this tracking happen to another population as it did to mine.
And if you think it wonβt affect you, it will. All anonymity goes out the window when your accounts can be linked via your personal ID
I wish you all luck in preventing this act from going through.
I called my representative and left a voice message!
Hereβs the 5calls script to make it easy! https://5calls.org/issue/age-verification-internet-privacy/

This is the paper. It's excellent, highly recommend reading it.
I remember reading about Gebru's firing but I had no idea this was the paper she was fired over.
Today I wanted to talk about Kyle Bassinga. Kyle was a 21 year old man from Georgia, whose family described him as "a kind, thoughtful, and smart young man who loved nature, music, and the people around him". Kyle Bassinga was killed on February 18th 2026, just ten days after his birthday. He was found hanging from a tree in a park.
The police ruled it a suicide. The family and local community demanded an investigation. The police refused to change their ruling.
I know this website it too white for this to really go anywhere, but an understanding of the present reality of white supremacy in the United States is just so important to transfeminism here. Lynchings never stopped, white supremacy never went away, you just stopped looking.

Can we support him please?!
I would love to share this with everyone who may happen to see this post. Please support this wonderful human being. He spent nearly a half century in prison for a crime he never committed. And the only thing that kept him going was his artistic endeavors. He deserves the best life can offer anyone β€οΈ
HERE IS A LINK TO HIS WORK
If my page suddenly stops posting one day, know that my baby Qais has died. I will never forget the people who saw my child bleeding, suffering, and begging for help, yet chose silence and continued scrolling.
I feel completely broken and deeply ashamed begging strangers for help every day, because this suffering has turned me into a mother forced to sacrifice even her dignity just to keep her child alive.
I want nothing from this world except seeing my baby Qais walk and laugh again. Please donate so I can buy medicine and bandages instead of expired drugs and torn clothes cleaning his wound.
Please donate now Gofundme
