The Golden Empire

How tragic would it be if Minho and Jisung were angels that fell in love and they were allowed to love but act upon it like they see human lovers do was forbidden.

For eons they orbit around each other, giggle and whisper, and they can let their fingers brush. They know that more than this would be to risk everything.

However, longing isn't something they can control and it builds up and up until it crests into desperation.

They don't know who reaches out first, they only feel the breathlessness as their lips touch.

Hunter meets Prey

The music coming from the cabin had been slowly driving Minho insane, each note a reason for a useless aim, a missed shot, a lost hunt.

The Han's youngest son was a nuisance, a maddening presence on these woods he didn't even belong to. Han Jisung, from what Minho recalled of their games when they were young, had a weak stomach for blood.

Jisung was a lost soul running from the city and disturbing the woods.

Jisung had always been a god that basked on the greater things in life. His existence was pure creativity and indulgence, so when everyone was busy with crops and war, he was found in the field strumming and humming - no single worry bothering him.

But he could be doing that in his home between clouds or in the bed of the next muse he would match with a sculptor. However, for the past years the field was his second home. 

It had been once a great temple, the god of it not forgotten but the humans had decided said god needed something bigger, more beautiful. 

And Jisung was the first one to agree that the holy being deserved everything.

But this god also had a nostalgic heart and quite often visited the ruins of a past place of worship and that’s where Jisung chose to meet him. 

Fingers plucking on strings, Jisung played an old tune for the god of beauty. A smile on his face, he closed his eyes as he eventually began singing softly, a worship of his own. 

And it didn’t take long for Minho to appear, graceful and gorgeous as ever, breathtaking in soft twirling steps that followed Jisung’s music.

They didn’t have to truly speak, they just enjoyed the moment with song and dance. For a couple hours, all in the world and skies forgotten to savor the simplicity of their meeting.

A moment where they could be less gods and more two eternal beings that didn’t have to deal with the harsher things in life. 

When Minho eventually had to leave - to make sure the beautiful daughters of emperors hadn’t ruined their beauties with too much rouge - he left with a kiss to Jisung’s cheek.
