Hawke sends two of his most trusted companions into a slaver’s masquerade— an opulent den in Hightown where velvet hides cruelty, and every masked noble watches with a predator’s patience. Their task is simple in theory: retrieve a ledger that could topple a criminal network, and walk out undetected. To survive the night, one must play the master, and the other must kneel. It is a role neither should be able to stomach, a performance made harder by old wounds and unspoken desire. But the masquerade is precarious, and the deeper they slip into their parts, the more the line between act and truth begins to blur. Under candlelight and called bids, power masks intimacy, vulnerability becomes weaponised, and touch becomes a language of its own. The crowd sees a pair bound by ownership and obedience— but the truth that exists between them is far more nuanced: loyalty freely given, longing carefully buried, trust teetering on the edge of something neither dare name. When the ledger finally comes within reach, the hardest part isn’t the theft. It’s stepping back from the roles that let them ache for each other in plain sight— and deciding what, if anything, is left once the masks come off.

Ever since Hawke had been rescued from the Fade, she felt tired all the time, her bones ached in new ways, and, most disturbing to Fenris in particular, her magic was suddenly unreliable. Too much raw Fade had destabilized the channels she’d built within herself over a lifetime of work. But the work could be re-done. She could rebuild those pathways with enough long, patient work. Not Hawke’s specialty. But her partners are both experts in diligence. Through it all, the Fade still haunted not only her dreams, but her waking hours as well. Shades crept in the corners of her eyes with ghosts of her loved ones crying out to her, filling her head with twisted memories and visions of terror. But, you know, you try to learn to live with these things.

My instincts are top notch,” she said, crossing her arms. “Are you just upset because I’m veering off your map?” “I devised a very well thought out circular route through Crestwood and back.” “And it is a very good route,” she placated, taking him by the arm and tugging him a step in her direction. “Where is your sense of adventure?” “Abandoned about 3000 years past,” he stated flatly. “That’s not true,” she said, pulling him another step. “And you know what they say about the road less taken?” “That you will wind up with broken legs at the bottom of a hidden ravine?” “No,” she scoffed. “That you’ll find cool things on it.” “I do not believe that is how the saying goes either.”

Now that the works for @templartationsexchange have been revealed, I can share my fics!

I made two gifts for @librivore42; one is called, A Lever Left in Darkness, which explores the tense/strained relationship (or lack there off) between three former templars who have been hurt by the order in different ways. The other is called, Growing Pains, which follows Anora's acceptance of her marriage to Alistair and her understanding of grief.

Additionally, I wrote a treat for @summergreen009 titled, My Dear "Old" Friend, which details a reunion between Alistair and Leliana during the events of Inquisition. The pair discuss love, loss, and longing.

I received two wonderful gifts! The main gift was from StarrShineGirl called, The Art of the Possible. The other was from @librivore42 titled, A long and lonely waiting.
