It’s actually really funny to me that people will bitch about Stella being a one-dimensional villain, because “we don’t know her side of the story and Stolas is an unreliable narrator/what if she had reasons to abuse her husband?”
Just really nasty shit that people tend to say about victims of abuse.
But then when Valentino is shown to have layers, it’s “humanizing a rapist”. It’s almost as if they’re actually homophobic and don’t really care about how villains are portrayed. Because if they did, they wouldn’t have double standards towards Stella and Valentino.
These people insist that Stella needs to be sympathetic and not just a cold-hearted bitch who enjoys tormenting Stolas, because there’s no way that a woman can possibly be cruel for no reason. But when it comes to Val? No way. He has to be shown as evil 24/7 or else he’s being “woobified” 🙄
It just goes to show how they view all women as innocent beings and all men as monsters.
