whoever wrote the bluebook needs to be oppressed
oh, you want to include the authorâs name in your citation? well, depending on the document youâre creating, the source youâre citing, whether or not itâs a federalist paper, the phase of the moon, and the name of your first pet, thatâs going to either be in smallcaps, italics, underline, or parentheses! :)Â
surely this is the best way to tell the reader how to locate your source
Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and Penn Law Reviews compile it. They absolutely deserve to be oppressed cuz every five years they just fuck with the Bluebook to âmake their markâ and make themselves feel special.
As a regulatory attorney who uses a billion types of nontraditional sources, Bluebook isnât even fucking useful. All I ever use is Rule 17.2 and it doesnât even help me.
Once when I was getting frustrated, the editor in chief of my law review told me, âJust make something up. The important thing is that the reader can find what youâre citing. Bluebook doesnât matter.â
Burn it
