i was being a little sarcastic and silly teehee, i knowww s4 is important to subz characterization cause for my warden arc fic i briefly checked out some of his previous season stuff (and in bacons warden video s4 like. haunts bacons idolization of subz) and thats when he fixes up spawn…did i look into his team relations or much more…no. it was a bacon centric fic who was supposed to be an unreliable narrator!! thats a good enough excuse right ? insert cry emoji

i wish i did,,,,i know subz is there!! and pzam and some other ppl!! but the only reason i know this is cause im an avid "once i run out of fandom fics that have my favs in it i read basically anything and everything" girl and not because i know much about them,,,,also s4 would probably be up there with my least know about seasons overall, anything past s5 gets blended together into " yeah that probably happened sometime early" (see: the cleansing and the wormhole as examples), and i dont even know that much about s5 either!

Its not a scripted smp, sometimes things dont work out and sometimes feelings get hurt because they are people first, messy and complicated people, and characters second for the most part in lifesteal. Lifesteal often blends this line of reality and roleplay and it can often end up hurting people because of it; Lifesteal is as real and fake as you’ll take it. Not in a parasocial way, but in the way it impacts its creators.

maybe you and anon should fight to the death or like make out…Just some options yk,,, But i think you both are saying similar things, Derap's betrayal didn't really accumulate to anything but stir up Zam's paranoia yeah? I still think that counts as a betrayal of sorts, definitely feels like it when Derap wouldn't own up to it or explain himself when Zam gave him the chance to.

Lifesteal and betrayals are strange and it just comes down to one question. Is intent more important than the results?

Is Derapchu considering betraying the team, leaving his options open, more a betrayal of trust despite nothing coming of it? Is Zam killing Derap, without talking to the rest of the team and without being certain on Derap’s betrayal, him betraying their team’s (atlas’s) trust, EVEN IF Zam was right in the end? Derap had the intention, Zam had the results, but if you ask me- both of them did commit a betrayal.

I think what counts as a betrayal is in the eye of the beholder to decide, and in Zam’s case she needed him to be betraying so that everything would start to make sense again.

A lot of this couldve really been solved with some easy communication but well, lifesteal and it dont get along too good do they?

Zam didn't necessarily betray Derapchu (first) if you think about it generally but I do agree with saying its a betrayal in a way. I just think it's a justifiable one. she had every right to be paranoid though as Derapchu was actively feeding her information to minute and his team who were literally seconds off from finding her for an almost entire stream until she finally faces them funnily enough. He also has this historical tendency to "betray" teammates as punishment when he dislikes their actions. + his language towards Zam building up to this point slowly got more and more rude towards her behavior and was more hurtful than helpful. But benefit of the doubt and allat, it does seem very antsy to not have that "100% guarantee."

Derapchu justifies his actions later by saying he actually saved her in a way when he told the chungpire she no longer used that base but she literally saved herself bc she lied straight to his face and said she doesn't use it anymore when she kept coming back to it. So it does make some of his argument null. Minute also just didn't believe derap despite derap being totally willing to work with him just to get petty satisfaction but this does lead to Zam losing the valuables shulker but I don't think that case was derapchu's fault necessarily.

As for the woogie guilt trip stuff, he did guilt trip her, that doesn't make him "bad" or uncaring but he did do that. He has this thing where he kind of worships(?) or like pedastals Zam into something that they aren't and reduces them to a role. I really like this part of their dynamic but it is considered typically unhealthy. tldr: he can be reasonable and still try to make Zam feel bad for disagreeing? with? him? (<- it's much more complicated than that I just thought this was funny)

communication yap is great though because this is something that consistently stems from zam's character on LS especially in season 4 but quite literally no one is that great at it on lifesteal. like Derapchu only did really well before because he watched her streams and vods and highkey stream sniped her. I think they were good teammates during the mawn/zaun arc but he did undeniably do that to reinforce their relationship. zam is still bad at communication currently but did get a little better in s7. shoutout bing to some extent

Zam seemed pretty obviously miserable during this point in atlas so yeah, a lot of her chat was against it but there was a lot of vague backseating in a way. It's more common for roleplay streamers, but chatter will try to push their agenda or somehow allude to something they want to happen. Quoting stuff from chat for Zam isn't rare to see if it makes sense for them to say. Really fun to see in the vods though

I do give props to woogie with his character despite how condescending he was to fem ccs on especially lifesteal during that era. woogie's perception of Zam is just incredibly intriguing to me because if you're not sniping zam's inner monologues or solo think-pieces, it is very very hard to understand their actions and also very cool to see how nobody completely understands their character on lifesteal. minus maybe spoke? facade meant to be dismantled by the viewer and all that

from ur reactions this just tells me you've gotta watch season 3-4 in it's full glory because I'll always justify paranoia from this smp. sorry for this text wall, I think your reactions are very fun though

hihihihihihih mini thank you for the ramble back on my ramble, i LOVE s6 of lifesteal (obviously) but i'm also decidedly not as big of a stream/vod watcher as much as i was in previous mc fandoms so this is very much appreciated!!!!
