Opening her eyes, even though it never seemed like she closed them, she never dreamed, it was just black and dark. With the raising of her eyelids, the room she slumbered in seemed to power on, everything whirring to life. The electric hum was enough to keep her from falling back to sleep. This place ran itself when she went into her sleep like Hibernation.
Her control room, or core as she referred to it, She manipulated all of Hyperion from here, She was the mind, the heart, and the core system functions of this station. She ran something called the ECHOnet, this was a wide range database that anyone with an ECHOdevice could access. She provided all sorts of answers to curious minds, directions, any kind of aid anyone could ever think of. She loved her job dearly.
All around her were different Monitors, screens, they shown her face, her inner conscious, a much more pure version of herself. No wires, no markings, no tubes sticking out of the side of her head, It was just her, in her desired form.
Giant opalescent wings, double the size of her armspand, seemed to form out of nowhere, unfurling as her body left the ground, lifting up and into the center of her control core. Here is where the real work got done, she had not left this spot in…years? She wasn’t sure how long it’s been since she… –
Oh dear… She was going to be late..
Every morning she has a routine, her father made her check in with him to make sure he knew she was awake, But before that there was someone much more important on her list. Of course she would get into loads of trouble if he knew what she was up to… But she’s just helping the stupid vault hunters right? Yeah that was a good excuse.
She pulled up a list, looking through it, spotting a name with a star beside of it, it was the only person who had ever shown her an ounce of sympathy, the only person who had ever honestly listened to her at all.
“ Gaige…” More sternly this time.
“Gaige, It’s time to wake up” There was a smile in her voice. This was her favorite part of waking up, it was the time of her day that could get her in the most trouble, but it was worth it, and she got to help her friend wake up, knowing how deeply stubborn she can be, she couldn’t say no to Angel.
And Angel, the girl who ran Hyperion’s digital systems, the siren daughter of the CEO of an extremely corrupt corporation, and the guardian Angel of Pandora… She was this Vault hunters alarm clock, purely by choice, and she loved it.
