Declutter Your Life
Iâve resolved that every Wednesday, I will write a masterpost about self care and living clean and happy lifestyles. Mainly because my blog is devoted to that too, besides being a studyblr, but I hardly ever post original content about it, so hereeee we go. :)
Plan first
Make a list of areas you want to tackle
Or items you want to go through
Set how long youâll clean
And a little reward for yourself when youâve reached that goal
Envision what you want your space to look like at the end
Set aside three baskets or areas: one for things to keep, one for things to trash, and one for things to donate/sell
House
There are just some ideas of things to get rid of or pare down. Feel free to add your own. :)
Bedroom
unnecessary pillows on your bed or extra blankets
monsters under your bed
chargers, wires, etc. that go to devices you donât have anymore or that are broken
old devices, phones, ipods
books you felt kinda eh about while reading them
copies of books or CDs
old notebooks
sticky notes that have lost their stickiness
broken pencils
markers that have dried up
any art supply you donât use
scrap paper thatâs gotten too small
scrap yarn thatâs gotten too small
old art projects
unfinished art projects
papers
candles w/o any smell
Scentsy-type stuff w/o any smell
Closet
clothes that donât fit
all of those clothes you save for your âugly daysâ
shoes that hurt that you donât even like the looks of
underwear with holes (or blood stains - ya feel me, girls?)
socks without a matching pair

bras that are even looking tired
copies of clothes, like multiple white t-shirts
jewelry you donât wear
childish jewelry
broken jewelry
Bathroom
hygiene products past their expiration date
faded towels
bottles with only a few drops of product left
worn out toothbrushes
hairbands that have lost their elasticity
congealed nail polish
makeup you regret buying
Digital Life
Social Media
Unfollow people, be merciless, make your social media a place of positivity
unfriend toxic people (see the next section)
go through your own posts and delete anything you regret posting
take social media breaks
Computer
upload all of your photos to Google photos or flickr or photobucket or onedrive or whatever, or even a CD, then delete them from your memory
also back up important documents or just things you want to keep to something else and delete them on your computer
go through and sort everything into files
delete any programs you donât use
Phone
clean out your pictures, upload them to cloud or whatever
delete all of the apps you donât use or need
go through your contacts and delete the people you donât want to contact anymore
delete old text message conversations
give yourself a new background too, something clean and simple
Relationships
Get rid of those people who are toxic in your life, mute notifications from them, unfollow them on social media (you can unfollow someone one facebook without unfriending them), donât answer them often
make an effort to interact with people face-to-face rather than through text or the internet
decide who you want to actively invest your energy in
School
make a study schedule
prioritize your schedule â study the hardest subjects the most
remember that grades are important
also remember that grades arenât everythingÂ
(pls donât fire me from being a studyblr)
if you canât get everything you need to do done in 24 hours without sacrificing 8 hours of sleep and a bit of time for yourself, then youâre doing too much

Struggle of a Long Distance Relationship
Itâs really hard when youâre in a long distance relationship. You donât get to meet them face to face, you donât get to hear their voice all the time because both of you or either one of you have busy schedule. Thatâs when you tend to miss the person so badly wishing you could see him in real life or through Skype even if itâs just for a few minutes. Because I believe once you get to see them or hear their voice through phone calls or Skype, all your stress and worries and missing him so much just floats away. But still remember maybe youâre not physically together side by side but youâre in each others heart.

How meal planning works: Shopping for your groceries and spending time to make your food might be slightly more time consuming than picking up something ready-made from the store, but Iâm here to make this way easier for you !!Â Ę â˘á´Ľâ˘Ęăâ
For those students who have a cafeteria at school, you might have noticed that the food isnât usually the cheapest option and is definitely not well fitted to your taste everyday; meal planning doesnât have to be hard!!
Tips:
Make time to find recipes Whether itâs creating what suits you, looking on Instagram for inspo, or watching youtube videos, always set aside a time to plan out what you need to buy and how itâs made. This saves up a lot more time in the long run as itâs all planned out! Food Gawker is one of my top favourite recipe sites to use, available for iOS too so you can use it on the go and save anything you come across!
Start a meal calendar Meal calendars are just like normal calendars- except you put what you are going to cook and when. Colour code everything! If your goal is to eat healthier, highlight all the days where you have vegetarian meals; if you see that you have a marathon coming up in the next week or two, colour in days where you bring foods that contain high-energy.
Day themes Monday- pasta? Tuesday- breads? Wednesday- rice? The best thing about prepping your own meals means that you can bend this however you would like. Having days with themes could make your recipe planning much easier, just pick something from the same category according to the day- however if you like tacos you could eat that everyday of the month!!
Have a regular shopping day Some people prefer to meal plan for the entire month or just for a week, but with whichever option you prefer, shopping regularly is very important. If your school days are from Monday to Friday, shop for enough groceries on the weekend to minimalise trips to the store again. Out Of Milk for android users is an app to create shopping lists that categorises the type of food (dairy, veggies, etc)Â
Set a budget Cannot ! Stress ! This ! Enough ! Give yourself a limit to how much money youâre going to spend on buying the ingredients. Always look in your fridge before going shopping so you know what you have and donât already need to buy!! One of the easiest ways to keep track on your expenses are to use an app: Monny and Pocket Expense are both great apps to categorise the money you spend and to set a (daily/weekly/monthly) budget on the go. Having an app to record everything seems to be the quickest option for a student (and theyâre free!) but if you prefer to write it down by hand then thatâs cool too (ăâă)!!!
Donât over plan Finding cool recipes can be super exciting BUT be aware about how long the meals take to make. Donât go for recipes that take 2 hours prep + 5 hour cook time just for one lunchâs worth of food. Leave out days for improvisation or grab lunch once in a while instead if you have a really busy schedule- donât guilt yourself just because you canât make lunch every single day!
Know your level of cooking How well do you cook? If your answer is not very well, thats okay! Culinary skills arenât required to make your own lunch, however it would make your life much much easier to pick something you can make and would like to eat.
Preparing meals (week prep) For those of you who donât mind eating the same meal everyday for a week, then preparing and cooking all meals on Sunday night would be ideal. There are two ways you can prepare: - Cook the meal as normal but for 5 portions (Mon-Fri, or however many days you are planning to eat it for) and store each portion in separate containers for each day. - Cutting, chopping, measuring and putting the ingredients into portions (in boxes or bags or however you want to keep it) to cook it every night for the next day. This ensures freshness but still saving all the prep time as you do it in advance! This does require some cooking but itâs definitely more efficient than doing the entire process per day.
Preparing meals (daily prep) You may have to find time each night to prepare if you prefer to eat something different everyday. Although it sounds very time consuming, I suggest to plan out recipes, gather all ingredients needed for all the meals, and sort out the amount of each ingredient needed for each meal on the weekend. Weekdays might be hectic and tiring when you get home afterschool, and finding the time to cut and prepare daily might start to become a chore, resulting in a lack of motivation to stay in plan.Â
