Becuase thats how we'll get more ace rep. Make sure that when his aceness is center staged that you are loud and proud for his ass so its clear there is a audience for ace story's.

I love Alastor as a complex and nuanced character, but that man should not have access to another living creature’s physical/emotional/psychological wellbeing. 

He has proven himself incapable of being in the same room with another character without it divulging into him gaslighting, shaming, ridiculing, demeaning, mocking, taunting, humiliating, berating, distorting, lying, projecting, punching, threatening, bullying, dismissing, or manipulating another person.

And the fact that the two characters he’s shipped with the most are the two that have the shittiest self-esteem and appear the most desperate to have other people love them (with obvious severe abandonment issues)...

I think this is why there's so many mischaracterizations of his character because he's so complex and nuanced. On the one hand he IS a bloodthirsty abusive piece of shit, but on the other he's human and multidimensional and CAPABLE of being decent to the people close to him. We see it with Mimzy in the first season. Alastor knew she was only using him but still gave her the benefit of doubt and in the end he still saved her ass and kindly told her she COULD stay if she tried to be good and didn't ridicule her after she scorned him and left. We see it with Niffty. He never once shames her for her obsessive cleaning habits or bug hyperfixation. He keeps the roach crown she gave him and he instantly jumped to stop the fight the moment Valentino had her at gunpoint. We see it with Vox in the flashback. Alastor tells him he doesn't enjoy being swooned over and prefers when Vox is casual and relaxed with him. He tolerates Vox's touches even though that kind of boundary crossing irritates Alastor. He lets Vox live even after decades of Vox despising him when he could kill him at any moment if he wanted to.
