I noticed in the "COP-ulating" scene Brain's carrying his jacket, which is a cool detail bc it's a realistic mundane thing you usually wouldn't see on TV, and bc while Brian must have got hot enough to take it off, Justin is still wearing his, which is thicker than Brain's to begin w, plus he has a scarf. Headcanon that Justin tends to get cold easily. Now I'm happily thinking of Justin hogging the blankets, borrowing into Brian for warmth and stealing Brian's layers as Brain rolls his eyes.
YES YES YES THIS BUT ALSO:
Brian coming home to Justin wearing one of his sweaters and grumbling a bit about how Justin’s going to ruin them by rolling up the sleeves but secretly loving the sight of it
Justin padding about the loft with a blanket draped over his shoulders, nearly tripping over himself until Brian buys him a blanket that he may or may not have measured to ensure it’s just the right length so he won’t fall and break his neck.
Gus getting Justin a snuggie for Christmas and Brian barely holding back his laughter until Gus reveals it was Brian’s idea, at which point he shuts up immediately and makes a mental note to give his son some lessons on discretion. Justin tells Gus how much he loves the snuggie…and then later that night makes Brian wear it. Well, wear might be an exaggeration since Brian refused to put it on. So by wear it I mean they ended up fucking on it.
Justin getting in the habit of making himself a pot of tea whenever he’s cold because it’s better for you than coffee and Brian somehow getting hooked on an orange ginger tea they have to special order.
Justin coming inside and Brian immediately covering him with kisses and when Justin laughingly protests, Brian says he has to warm him up because budding young artists can’t be getting frostbite. They perform this little ritual even if Justin only ran down the street to pick up some milk from the corner store.
Brian grumbling when Justin raises the thermostat so high it feels like they’re living in a green house and he has no choice but to walk around naked if he doesn’t want to sweat his balls off, and Justin just giving him a look.
Brian buying Justin a coat, gloves, and scarf every Christmas, completely ignoring Justin’s protests that he way overpaid and he could have gotten just a nice a coat at Macy’s.
Brian sometimes “doing the laundry” so there are sadly no blankets to be found and then adjusting the thermostat so it’s just slightly too cold to encourage copious amounts of snuggling.
Justin and Brian sitting on the couch watching a movie and Brian’s already teased Justin for looking like a little burrito wrapped up in his blanket, but then Brian starts getting cold, too…and Justin graciously offers up some of his blanket.
And because I had to end it on this… when Justin’s in NYC and Brian’s still in Pittsburgh, Justin calling Brian in the middle of the night, half-asleep. When Brian asks him if anything’s wrong, he says in a soft, sleepy voice, “I’m cold.” Brian sighs and says “me, too,” and they just stay on the line like that for a long time, the sound of hearing each other’s breath warming them up far more than all the down comforters in the world.
