The colors of Östersund:

During the festival Storsjöyran in Östersund Studio Herbarium held an open workshop in plant dyeing. For five days we dyed silk fabrics with plants from the area around Östersund in Jämtland. A great number of people showed up to join us in our dyeing and we are so glad for all the knowledge, enthusiasm and exciting plants they brought with them.

This weekend Emma held a workshop in natural dyes at her old school in her hometown Krokom. The workshop was about playing and experimenting with natural colors as a way to inspire youths to use natural dyes as a way to re-make clothes or other textiles.
