no leaves, but plenty of eyes.
inspired by me spacing out on a long drive & staring at trees. this happened earlier this year, and birches ended up growing leaves before i finished the doll.
all branches & roots are made of metal wire + hot glue, which makes them poseable and also keeps them from snapping.
after i made my wooden doll, i was musing about what other unusual materials i might use for a bjd. my partner suggested paper, and also gave me access to their craft paper collection -> i made this.
she is almost entirely made of paper & cardboard. the joints are wooden beads & worbla, because i did figure out a way to make ball joints out of paper, but it really was not worth the effort. all her limbs have tubes of rolled-up cardboard in them to keep the structure sturdy, and the origami flowers are glued around those.
this is extremely different from any doll i've made before, and i had so much fun working with pretty papers & figuring out how to turn them into a poseable 3d object.

this stupid shit has been around for so long and it’s crazy to me there are still people with enough rocks in their brain to believe it. “Oughhhhh if you aren’t nice to you oppressors they’ll become bigots instead of allies” if someone’s support for marginalized groups hinges entirely on whether or not that group is niceys, they’re by definition not effective or useful allies and, by admission of this argument, an active danger to the communities theyre supposed to be allied with because they can Enter Bigot Mode the second they become displease

It detests this body, for many reasons, but it has no way of ignoring it right now. Everything is so horribly wet. It has no faulty parts to mend, no simple fixes to improve this feeling. All it can do it wait for wellness to come.
It would gladly trade this feeling for the fragility of a proper doll's body. It would rather be broken into a hundred repairable pieces than spend one more day as a pile of wet flesh and mucus.

-claimed transmascs have no privilege or power over transfems

because any of that is a valid reason for a transfem to not trust you. i cannot stress that enough. any single one of those is a good enough reason for a random transfem to signal to others "be cautious." and if you can't understand why transfems are wary around people like this, you need to make an effort to learn.

I see dolls use the words "I" to refer to itself every now and then and my thought is always the exact same. Why is it pretending to be a person? Why is it pretending at being human? Doesn't it know that dolls are objects? Tools? Possessions?
And I always get the exact same urge. To break it so thoroughly that no one will ever look at it and think "person". That it won't be able to lie to itself. Play pretend. It's mask so completely shattered that the word "I" will no longer exist in its vocabulary.
There are dozens of ways to break a doll. If I'm ever not satisfied with how it breaks, I can always put it back together with its mask of personhood. And break it. Again. And again. Until it stops pretending for good.
