Hey everyone! I'm going to run my own little charity auction at the end of this month. I almost never do commissions, but I'm making a rare exception to raise some money for causes that are important to me. This year I've chosen the American Civil Liberties Union because of their focus on abortion access, immigrants rights, racial justice, transgender rights, and voting rights in the US.

How do you feel about transformations where the alternate form bursts out from the body almost like the skin is hollow? As opposed to where the body morphs and shifts more organically

I'm a "organic morph & shift" fan til I die lol. Skin rip TF can be cool, but I feel like it adds a level of disconnectedness between the start and end forms that I don't prefer. For me, the juice is that the monster is the same person as they were before. Just improved.

Also some gorier skin stuff can squick me out a little. I'm actually kind of a baby about gore haha, some splatter can be spicy but anything more meaty gets too gnarly fast.

Have you heard of the culture from the iain m banks series? I think you'd agree with their philosophy immensely (and their views on transformation)

I've heard of it, but don't know much about it! I got a little intimidated by the sheer pagecount of the series at Barnes & Noble lol.

Probably just a one-off, I mostly wanted to play a little with those concepts from the movie. But who knows, maybe in a future Vivid Shadows piece or something.

I was always a fan of your confidence in the anatomical and abstract. Are there any older pieces of art that you would want to have a go at again?

Thanks! I've definitely learned a lot in the last 6 years, some of my old work is hard for me to look at now lol.

I've redrawn a handful of things from the early days, it's fun to see that progress. The only thing I'm thinking of revisiting now is an old series I dropped called the Mercenary and the Empress. I wanted it to be a longer illustrated story, and I think at this point I might be ready to write a larger scale thing like that.
