For Stormpilot Week 2018: Historical AU.

Finn and Poe are Army Aviation reservists, thrown together as buddies for annual training (AT) exercises- the “two weeks in the summer” that the recruiting ads mention. This takes place circa 1998. That’s only 20 years ago, but I’m calling it a historical AU because I think it is proper and correct to think of DADT as a historical era.

Stormpilot week day 4 - Historical au

This is a fic I started for a kink meme fill a little while ago and stormpilot week seemed like a good excuse to finish it! For Day 3: Inside the Cockpit. (They’re technically down the corridor from the cockpit, but that counts, right?)

(Finn/Poe, 6k, explicit, kinks include anal, rimming, roleplay, clothed/unclothed) Finn might be rebel scum now but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t still look good in his pilfered First Order officer’s uniform, or that he won’t indulge Poe’s fondness for it. He isn’t dead, and neither is Poe, but they could be tomorrow and there doesn’t seem much point in withholding from what they want.

You know. Because it only has one seat. 

Finn’s been taking flying lessons and Poe thinks he wants to show off his new skills.

This is for Day 2 of Stormpilot Week. It’s a little late but I didn’t have time to put it up before I left for work this morning. The theme for this day was: Day 2: Sharing Clothes or Supportive Space Boyfriends. I went with the first one.

Ever since they’d settled into their new base and started building their new Rebellion, Finn had noticed he’d been getting a lot of double takes. Both Poe and Leia had assured him that it had nothing to do with him being a former Stormtrooper, though he hadn’t quite believed them on that score until someone had mentioned what he’d said to Phasma and clapped him on the back as they’d grinned at him. He wasn’t even aware that anyone knew about that. Rose hadn’t been close enough to hear it and he hadn’t told anyone.

(It turned out BB-8 had been patched into the First Order comms in the AT-ST Walker he’d commandeered and had picked it up from Phasma’s helmet comms. BB-8 had than told everyone. ‘Rebel scum’ had become everyone’s new catchphrase. Finn had thought Leia would put a stop to it but the first time she heard it, she’d roared with laughter. Turns out it wasn’t exactly anything new.)

He still wasn’t sure what was behind the double takes though and when he’d asked Poe, he’d looked equally as confused. Jess and Snap had just looked at him blankly before Jess had devolved into giggles and Snap had patted him on the shoulder with a wry smile and said it was nothing to worry about. He’d tried asking Rey but she was as baffled as he was and Rose had evaded the question. He’d have asked Chewbacca or BB-8 but he didn’t speak either the Wookiee language or binary so that would have been utterly pointless.

Poe: Roger that, Rose. Pava tried to prank me by putting sacks of benchin root in the cockpit. Joke's on her, I love benchin root.

Rose: Haha. Well, we'll get that stuff out of there for you when you get back from patrol.

Poe: Affirmative. Black Leader out. (switches comms off)

Finn: Nice cover! Do you think she suspects anything?

Poe: Nah, we're good. I really do love benchin root.

Finn: Well I appreciate that, but I prefer "Finn."

Jess: *snicker* Good morning.

Poe: What's so funny?

Jess: Someone had a good night last night.

Poe: What makes you say that?

Jess: You're wearing Finn's pants from yesterday.

Poe: ...I am?

Jess: You are.

Poe: Well I guess that makes us even, then.

Jess: What do you mean?

Poe: He's wearing my necklace.

Jess:

As a pilot, Poe Dameron didn’t see much land action. He was always up above fighting a different battle. When he wasn’t in sky, Poe could be found back at the Resistance Base. He was never assigned work on the ground. He was never assigned to another base.

That was, until Hoth.

Sure, Poe was warned that it was cold, but he didn’t know it would be this cold. General Organa guffawed when he tried to tell her. “You think Luke Skywalker buried himself in a dead Wampa for fun?” She asked.

So here Poe was, miserable and cold. He hoped to never be assigned away from the Resistance Base again.

Finn seemed to be the only one who had some sympathy. “The Stormtrooper outfits weren’t that warm either,” he explained.

First it was a pair of gloves. Then it was a hat. Poe wouldn’t take his scarf. “You need to stay warm too,” he protested.

Finn paused before wrapping it back around his neck. “I’m really not that cold. You don’t need to worry about me.”

Poe smiled, “I’ll decide who I worry about, buddy.”

Later in the evening, Poe found Finn sitting alone near a fire. He walked over and draped a blanket over his shoulders.

Finn felt the material of the blanket and smiled. Poe sat next to him. “Will you share it with me?” Finn asked, “I’m sure we’ll both warm up sooner if we share our body heat.”

Poe: Sorry, General. I've been a little distracted lately-

Leia: I know. We all know. Even Threepio knows. Would you go ask him out, already?

Poe: Huh?

Leia: The new guy. Finn. Ask him out.

Poe: What?! I-I couldn't-

Jess: The man has a poster of you in his footlocker with a big scribbled heart on it.

Poe: He WHAT?

The first thing Poe Dameron learned as a member of the Resistance was that a battlefield is never a place for love.

Darth Vader was born from the fear of losing his beloved wife. The fall of Senator Amidala came from her desperation to save Anakin Skywalker. A story his mother used to tell him was that of two rebel fighters dying in each other’s arms. Everyone knew how Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa’s story ended. Poe refused to be that man. No, if he were to go down, it would be for his fellow pilots, his cause or General Organa.

At least, that’s what he thought… until he met him.

Finn threw a wrench in everything. Suddenly Poe found himself thinking of the other male more than battle strategies. Instead of looking in the distance, Poe found his gaze drawn to Finn. He’d turn away right after he caught himself, but that didn’t stop the blush coating his cheeks. He’d try to make himself focus on other things. He’d even tried tidying up both his X-wing and his quarters!

No matter what he did, Poe couldn’t stop himself from wondering if in another time, in another place, he and Finn could have lived their happily ever after.

“A battlefield is no place for love,” Poe thought, “but I can think about it a little.”

His eyes met Finn’s from across the room. Both men turned away quickly.
