Could I have some asexual/aromantic book recommendations for pride month, I really like fantasy, sci-fi and mysteries but I am happy to try other genres.

Also I'd love to know about 4 and 5 for the pride month asks.

4. What book is your favorite flavor of queer? Explain.

I really like queer horror and one of my faves is “Hell Followed With Us” by Andrew Joseph White. I love revenge stories and queer rage. It took me a while to read because of the religious trauma, but it was so cathartic.

5. Choose a song that speaks to your identity.

I really like the song “Leave Your Hate in the Comments” by Lord of the Lost. These lines really speak to me:

Attack us

Be reckless

Attend to the masses

We're crap and we're faggots

Montgomery Bonbon: Murder at the museum - If you are truly in a reading slump perhaps an absurdist comic childrens murder mystery book can help. The characters are delightful, I like how the character of Bonbon both looks suspiciously like a 10-year-old girl and is also treated like a serious foreign detective. The mystery was engaging with enough clues to be a fun puzzle to solve,

I'm deeply fond of Thomas Nightingale and also he frequently makes me very sad, so I wanted to draw something about that. Also, I figured if anyone would suit Leyendecker illustration vibes, which I'm really into right now, he would.

It has one of the most uniqe and interesting magic systems I have ever come across and a an incredible cast of compelling characters.

Peter is probaby my favourite narrator in any story. He is funny, witty and offers an interesting perspective on the world. I know I made a post about him being horny all the time but it was just something I found a bit annoying in the first two books and not really a major issue. He is a guy in his early twenties, it checks out. What can I say the guy grew on me. And as someone who recently had to take 2 years of latin, I feel for him.

My favourite character is probably Nightingale. I love seeing him interact with the modern world, see how things changed, forge new relationships. He just means a lot to me okay people BACK OFF.

Also shoutout to my queen Beverly Brook🙏. If that girl has no stans I am dead.

your infant grows into a child and you love them and the prophecy of your murder hangs above your head and all you can think is that you hope you have taught your child well enough that your death will be kind.

your child grows stronger and you teach them how to weave and how to wield an axe. you fix their posture as they learn to shoot a bow. they grow strong and brave and kind and you know you could never ever harm them.

and the your child learns of the prophecy. they learn that they will kill you. that it is fate. and they look at you and see a man who held the and wiped their tears away and helped them back to their feet and was never ever anything angrier at them than they deserved. and they look at their hands and see red. and while you have accepted your fate as a dead man. your child has not yet grown to know that their parents will die. your child has not accepted their fate as a murderer.

and so they run. they leave at night and they go far far away and they never ever come back and it hurts them more than anything ever has but they are comforted by the fact that they won’t kill their father. that their hands are clean. that you are safe.
