It was raining today, not the kind of rain that falls in a few scattered drops, but the kind that pours and lands harsh on your skin.
I saw her standing across the street.
She looked beautiful. Blonde hair cascading over her shoulders, a smile bright enough to make the gray sky seem forgotten. The moment I looked at her, I couldn't even tell it was raining anymore. All I could see was her. All I could think about was her.
My heart pounded every time her eyes met mine. Somehow, in the middle of that storm, she became my rainbow. I stood there, completely still, watching her. I didn't even realize I'd forgotten to open my umbrella. The sharp chill of the rain somehow felt warm whenever she looked my way.
In that moment, nothing else existed. Not the storm, not the cold, not the world around us. There was only her.
And if all I was ever allowed was to stand at the very edge of her light, I'd still consider myself lucky.
