brendon put out the shittiest album ever and then went “maybe i shouldn’t actually do this anymore”

i have really no feelings whatsoever about the panic “breakup” given that i don’t even consider the last five years really part of their music. but it sucks brendon couldn’t have done this years ago, or just gone solo once it was only him, instead of clinging to a name from years ago and taking a very well loved band and just dragging their name through the mud. he could’ve ended it after twtltwtd or death of a bachelor and been remembered as a talented musician and everything ryan, jon, spencer, and dallon worked so hard on would’ve been remembered fondly too. but now their entire discography is pretty much always going to be overlooked at best by the vast majority because of how awful the last couple releases have been. which in the grand scheme of things doesn’t matter that much but it just sucks for the former members who actually loved the band vs brendon who pretty clearly has always cared about the fame
