He’d also been told that while holding his grades and his place on his various extracurriculars was all well and good, he wasn’t going to get anywhere as a single Alpha with no prospects. Mating prospects anyway. Everyone knew the best time to get paired off was in school, and as his father didn’t plan on allowing him to attend university…that meant he needed to find someone now.

Unlike his brother, who’d run a red and wild streak through the Betas and Omegas in the school and most of the neighboring towns, Sam wasn’t all that interested in beating Dean, who, as rumor had it, held the record for most taken virginities throughout his highschool career. Not that he was bad looking, or even unpopular. He just didn’t see the need to try and live up to that particular aspect of his brother’s reputation. God knew he loved Dean, but even he knew they were cut from slightly different cloth.

It didn’t put his mood in a very good place as he stepped in through the front doors a couple of days late for term. Like many students, the absence was mostly looked over, what with the tuition being a goodly sum. Usually he stayed in the country for breaks with his brother but unfortunately for him they had all needed to jet off on business and that meant the underage brother had to come along.

He’d been contemplating a blond Beta named Jess that had caught his eye for most of the year anyway when he noticed the stink of testosterone in the air, a large group of Alphas piled around in the corridor between the Math and English wings. Assuming it was yet another flare up between Alphas- he put his money on Crowley and Abaddon, they were always fighting about something; he noticed his friend Andy trying to catch a glimpse of what was going on over the many heads.

"It's your lucky day, Omega," instead of the imminent rage he had suspected, she seemed pleased by his outburst, "I love a good challenge." For a kid who was mostly pretty easy going, it took a lot to set him off, but at those words, panic rose up from deep inside like bile, and if he were anywhere else in the world, he would have shouted for help.

She closed in again, fingers gripping about his wrists and pinning them at his sides. Kali crooned something horrible about how she couldn't wait to make him beg to be mated to someone like her, and his resolve was breaking. This wasn't at all what he'd had in mind when it came to education. He expected the damn best of the best like everyone else got. To make a few good friends and stay up late, ditch as much class as he could without getting kicked out and maybe try some low end drugs just to see what that crap was like before it really mattered.
