(from this post) this quote relative to halmarut and my crazy wish that her ancient's name was persephone has me gnawing my fingernails off
Persephone is not explicitly mentioned either but appears under the formula of ‘unspeakable girl’ (ἀρρήτου κούρας. 1307).39 Ἄρρητος and its quasi-synonym ἀπόρρητος are found several times in Euripides. They mean what cannot or should not be said, most often because of its inappropriateness—such as an adulterous pregnancy (Hipp. 293) or the murder of a host (Hec. 714)—but also because it belongs to the divine order, which is by nature undeterminable by human speech and logic.

"an adulterous pregnancy"—hades & persephone, if halmarut's ancient was named persephone, if they choose to make halmarut's specific ancient a woman (because our only mention of halmarut within the convocation is the original halmarut, who was a man).
Akadaemia Anyder Visitor's Guide: Did you know that the original Halmarut, a man lauded for countless advancements in the field of phytobiology, was an avid landscape gardener? He was famed for botanical labyrinths of intricate design, the foliage of which he sought to protect from voracious pests with the inventive application of creation magicks-a recreational project said to have led to the evolution of the world's first carnivorous plants.
Students of his research later expanded upon those early techniques, and successfully developed an extended family of ambulatory flora. If you, too, wish to set down roots in this fertile field of study, hearken you to the Words of Halmarut and submit your application to the Akadaemia.
adds an absolutely insane layer to what may be halmarut and zenos's dynamic because women are conspicuously absent in the garlean empire, the most notorious example being livia (whose romantic obsession with gaius is. lol. why did they try editing that in the msq + werlyt reworks to make gaius seem like a good dude while ramping up livia's fixation on him?)
"the murder of a host"—thinking about how varis's corpse was turned into anima in tower of babil and how the murder of a host could simultaneously refer to emet-selch/the unsundered or zenos
Halmarut: Should we take no action at all, the Solstice will come. And no one will be left alive. No one.
Halmarut: Of course, should it serve to satisfy your ambition, you are welcome to deal with the reflections as you deem fit.
Halmarut: Like the pariah and wanderer who satisfied his own, when he brought the star to the brink of ruin to face you.
halmarut being an "unspeakable girl" likewise portends her role in msq—because calyx does speak to an ascian in obvious ascian attire at the end of 7.3 which we could assume is halmarut, but she has this convo with calyx as part of her introduction:
Calyx: As if the horns and scales weren't enough, you insist upon dressing for another century. Those clothes must be as old as I am.
Calyx: Where is your robe?
Halmarut: You mean the robe that practically announces me as an Ascian?
Halmarut: Not that I don't intend to reveal that detail, but it will be at a time of my choosing.
in addition to that, calyx says:
Calyx: We Winterers each have an ambition that we wish to fulfill. To that end, we may share information with one another, but we do not necessarily share the same beliefs.
in patch 7.3, we meet demetrius (whose name means "of demeter," persephone's mother in greek mythology). persephone, through hades, is the queen of the underworld. the myth of hades & persephone (with persephone's descent into the underworld to be with hades bringing about winter, etc) seems directly tied to the name "the winterers" (besides the obvious lmfao). the unsundered are dead, zodiark & hydaelyn both have been killed, so now the star seeks to reassert itself… and halmarut has at last emerged
if halmarut's ancient is somehow relevant and gets a name that isn't either persephone or one of her epithets, i am going to weep.
