Lance turned his head towards that voice. It was familiar, yet distant. His head followed after Silverâs speech, eye contact was absent, but looking in Silverâs general direction. âHe knows the drill?â He felt mocked at that comment, a bitter expression making an appearance on his face,âTo jog my memory?â He wouldâve hissed out a response if Silver didnât continue. He knew who this was now, Silver a previous challenger, one that had challenged him face on - a common one that didnât know he was blind.
âYes, you are familiar, but you havenât answered my question. Why are you here, what business do you have with the league?â The tone in the Dragon Masterâs voice wasnât one that rang near the realm of friendliness, but neither with active hostility. Irritated was a better word,âSince you know the "drillâ, I have expectations for you. Ones that you should know.â Lanceâs eyes narrowed, creating a falsehood of that he was staring right through the young man.
Those who were common around the Indigo Plateau knew how Lance truly behaved when he wasnât behind the camera, not on the battlefield, and not around children. He didnât mind showing his vexation in the slightest, Silver was on the Plateau, Lanceâs grounds. Crossing his arms across his chest, he made a low âtchâ noise, sucking air through his teeth for a short moment, making it known that he wasnât in the mood for this behavior. Making it known he wasnât going to allow himself to be disrespected.
âWhat? Canât I visit after... eight years? Come see the league that whooped me into shape and made me stop being a prickly little asshole?â Silver bristled, before grinning. âAnd you should know, Champion, that I donât follow expectations.âÂ
He looked the Champ up and down. Not much had changed, had it? Well, outside of the fact that he was now the same height as the Champion, rather then shorter then him. He looked a lot less impressive from an equal height. Volo headbutted his trainer nervously, almost asking him to stop snarking, but Silver near growled out what came next.
âAnd, hey Champ? At least have the courtesy to look at me, if youâre gonna talk down to me. Iâm not a kid anymore.âÂ
