It started over coffee

You make my heart sing to a rhythm of joy. You make my lungs dance with outbursts of laughter. You make my eyes swim in an ocean of longing. You make my ears echo with words I’d never thought I’d hear again.

How do I explain what I feel for her? I have no fucking idea. There’s not a good enough word to express it. She… She’s like sunshine after a long cloudy winter, but sometimes it still gets grey out. When it does, she is the rays of sun that poke out and give hope for clear skies. She’s like a warm blanket on a cold night, but sometimes the blanket is too small. When it is, she’s the fuzzy clothes I have on underneath to keep out the cold. She’s like a big meal after a long day of hunger, but sometimes I feel sick. When I do, she’s the medicine I take so I can feel better and eat. She’s like a beautiful open field on a sunny day, but sometimes it’s too hot. When it is, she’s the fan and spray bottle that cool me down. She’s like a campfire on a cooling down summer night, but sometimes the bugs are restless. When they are, she’s the smoke that scares them all away. She’s the one that makes the good things stay good, and she’s mine.
