I sat down to write and accidentally spent 3 hours making a playlist, 2 hours creating moodboards, and now I’m tired.
I know exactly what happens next. But unfortunately, I must now explain it… with words.
Whenever I start writing a new story, I'm always super hesitant to post anything about it because I'm never sure if I'm gonna finish it. I have literally a dozen half written stories with 50+ words in them
There’s no other way to do it 🫶🏼
That one WIP I abandoned years ago just popped into my head again… like a vengeful spirit demanding closure.

Types of Fanfic Writers
Angst Dealer: If it doesn’t emotionally destroy their readers, did they even write it?
Slow-Burn Specialist: 100k words and they haven’t even touched hands
Smut Goblin: Plot? What plot?
Chaos Conductor: No one asked for a cross over between The Hunger Games and Divergent, but here we are
Canon Wizard: “What if this one tiny thing changed and everything was different?”
The Procrastinator: Has a playlist, Pinterest board, and outline for their fic but never actually writes
Which one are you?
Me: This scene is too emotional, I can’t handle it
Also me: Wrote the scene
Me, naming characters:
First MC: Thoughtfully researched, meaningful, and symbolic
Side character: Named after my lunch
Me writing fanfic: They kiss.
Me rereading: They KISS! *kicks feet* They KISSSSS!
Behold… my original Divergent copy. Battered. Bruised. And Loyal. A relic of my early fandom days 🎡🔪4️⃣

Me at work: So many ideas! Can’t wait to write!
Me at home: *Stares at blank document* Never mind.
When you finish writing a spicy scene and immediately consider changing your name, deleting your blog, and moving to a small cottage in the woods.
Plot? I have plot ✔️
...Okay, I have vibes ✔️
...Fine, I have a Pinterest board ✔️
Writing the actual story?
...Nah
Starting a new WIP before finishing the last one? Couldn’t be me. (It’s me. It’s always me.)
The Writing Process, According to My Google Search History: Pt. 1
1. How long can a person survive without sleep?
2. How to write a slow burn when I have no patience
3. How to describe someone crying without saying “tears streamed down their face”
4. Do characters need to eat or can I just ignore that?
5. Words for “walking” that sound cool
6. What actually happens when you get stabbed? (Asking for a book)

I’ve been thinking (a truly terrifying concept, I know)… writing down my thoughts is one thing, but what about speaking them? A video diary feels both terrifying and intriguing. Would you ever try one? Or do you prefer the safety of words on a page?
Drafting: “Anything goes! Who cares about grammar? I’ll fix it later!”
Editing: “What illiterate goblin wrote this??”
