they’re beginning to fuck up the development of kaapo kakko, first by placing him in a billet in westchester county which is 40 minutes away from msg and he had to get a hotel before games so he could take a pregame nap. on a rookie’s salary.

like they did with lias, they’re offering kakko no support under the guise of “no preferential treatment” and are benching him when he doesn’t excel immediately.

next, k’andre miller. the rangers did nothing to protect him in a zoom interview where he was repeatedly called the n word and then took 10 hours to compose a bullshit response. they’re also letting 2 of the most racist people on the league, be on the same team as him. deangelo was suspended in junior for using a slur against his own teammate, and yet the rangers have not yet done anything to protect k’andre. they also, this summer, billeted k’andre to a former sundown town with alexis lafreniere. if you don’t know what a sundown town is, google it.

Because like damn guys, sometimes I just don’t wanna deal with super deep narratives about identity and misogyny. Sometimes I just can’t handle the secondary trauma of movies like the joy luck club and maos last dancer. Sometimes I just need to escape into a happy place of light humor and hot people. And sometimes I want that happy place to show ppl who look like me.
