I love art of the Nomai discovering/observing proto hearthians, So I wanted to draw the opposite view!

•Hearthian skin

Hearthians have two skin textures. Blue skin is located on the back, exterior of the arms, legs and head. It is smooth and scaly. The other skin texture is located on tummy, abdomen and chin for example. It’s softer and usually has a pale blue/orange/yellow tint.

•Rock offering

A bit like sea otters, hearthians like to pick up pretty rocks and give them to people they like to show their affection (it can be platonic or/and romantic). Porphy have a huge amount of rocks. Why ? They started collecting them since they started liking Gossan and wanted to give them to their crush. But they were too shy and kept the pretty rocks. Even if they are lovers now, Gossan doesn’t know about Porphy’s rocks collection…not yet.

Offering rocks is viewed by the younger generations as something cringe.

•About Gabbro struggles

The reason why Gabbro has scars on their ears is that they tended to tug them really hard whenever they had a panic attack. That’s why you can see that their ears are deformed and pointing down (even if they are still young).

•Gabbro’s beanie

The beanie Gabbro’s wearing is a gift from Chert and Riebeck. It helps a lot with the tugging ears thing because the braided strings present in each side replace the ears when Gabbro is panicking. Moreover, since it’s a very precious gift, Gabbro doesn’t pull that hard to prevent the fabric from tearing apart.

Heyyy so I finally finished this Gabbro design! I decided to create an outfit for them based on their occupation when they're not in space! And I HC them as being a wildlife specialist, specifically working to raise salamanders in the caves near the geyser mountains ::)
