“Stop quoting Little Women at me, James,” Regulus said through gritted teeth. “We are not getting married.”

“But-”

“I’m seventeen, you are eighteen. We are not getting married,” Regulus repeated.

“I have loved you ever since I’ve-”

It isn't until after the feast when they are getting ready for bed and Remus comes out of the bathroom with his glasses on because you can't sleep with contacts, he took them out. And Sirius just, freezes. 

He's floundering, red in the face and hearts in his eyes. He thinks Remus is beautiful, marvelous, exquisite. James is laughing at Sirius and Remus is nervous. He thinks they are making fun of him. 

Sirius grabs Remus's hands in his and looks him dead in the eyes and asks him "Please, let me take you on a date Moony, I can't take this anymore." Every year it's something that makes Sirius a little more crazy for Remus and the glasses were simply the last push. 

Remus, blushy and flustered, agreed. And if he wears his glasses on purpose some days to push Sirius's buttons, that’s his business.
