Imagine the Buckies in bed, spooning and catching their breath after doin' in sweet-style, and Gale's still got an itch under his skin.

Bucky's arms are around Gale's waist and he's dropping soft little kisses on his shoulder, when Gale says: "You waited a long time for me, didn't you."

It's not really a question when they both know the answer, so Bucky just hums and starts nuzzling at Gale's neck, bringing up goosebumps where his breath tickles across Gale's skin.

"Did you ever think of... not waiting anymore?" Gale asks, barely breathing so he can feel how the question hits Bucky.

All he feels is a puzzled hum vibrating from Bucky's chest into Gale's back before Bucky asks, "You mean, like, giving up? Moving on?"

Gale shifts a little, curling into himself a bit more before he works up the nerve to say: "No, I mean. You ever think about just taking what you wanted instead?"

And there's the reaction Gale was waiting for. John goes completely still for a long moment before choking out, "You mean like...?"

"You're bigger than me. Stronger. You probably coulda got me pinned down if you really wanted to," Gale says blandly, fighting off a shiver at the thought.

"Jesus Christ, Buck," Bucky says, arms tightening around Gale's middle and forehead pressing hard into the top of Gale's spine. "No, I... I thought plenty about having you, but never like that."

"Hmmm." Gale traces one finger lightly across John's tense forearm. "I wouldn't mind if you thought about it now."

He smiles to himself when John's spent dick twitches against the curve of his ass.

"In fact," Gale says, emboldened enough to nudge his hips back, "I don't think I'd mind if you did more than think about it."

So when he finally gets brave enough to hook up with Bucky, he's expecting mutual handjobs, fast and rough while they pant into the same hot space but don't otherwise touch. Maybe, eventually, if he can cope with the shame of it, he thinks Bucky might bend him over and use Gale's body and be polite enough to jerk Gale off while he fucks him.

He definitely wouldn't expect Bucky's eyes to go happy and soft when Gale finally reaches for him the first time, or for Bucky's callused hand to touch Gale's cheek achingly gently when Bucky leans in and -- gasp, shock, horror! -- kisses Gale closed-mouth and lingering instead of reaching for his belt or something. It has to be some weird Bucky quirk, that he takes his time, deliberate, to coax Gale's mouth open and kiss him deeper, embracing him just as sweet as Gale's ever held Marge. Men don't DO that with each other, Gale's sure of it.

But somehow every time Gale tries to escalate and treat Bucky the way he expected any man would treat him, Bucky acts like Gale's a skittish dog, murmuring at him soothingly and slowing things back down. And like, Gale KNOWS Bucky wants him, so what the hell is this chaste kissing all about? What they're doing wouldn't even qualify as heavy petting.
