Not because the mission went bad or anything. It's actually went great.

But he, Bucky Barnes, fell feet from the air onto his metal arm across concrete, nearly avoiding a concussion before taking on 8 armed guys at once.

He's fascinated with technology and maybe has been catching up on the great modern fantasy books. (He's probably read all the Red Rising books and even Throne of Glass and so on...)

He also gets passionate about the Lord of the Rings movies, because it will never not secretly amaze him how he's read Tolkien in the 30s and is now able to see these characters on a screen!

Now, let's look at John.

He's grown up in a small town. Got really into sports when he was young and then joined the military later on.

There wasn't really much time to get interested in fan culture like this and it's just not really interesting to him. He probably has never even seen The Lord of the Rings.

So I think it's inevitable for them to clash.

Just imagine movie night at the Watchtower and Bucky is making everyone watch Lord of the Rings and John just can't help to ragebait the shit out of him.

"So why does Sauron need a ring when he doesn't even have a real body?"

"Jesus, that Froyo guy has almost died thrice already."

"Aren't elves supposed to be- I don't know, really tiny?"

"There's no way that actor broke his toe kicking that helmet."

The situation really escalates though when John looks Bucky dead in the eye and asks why the hobbits didn't simply fly on the Eagles to Mordor.

Bucky basically flips the table and popcorn goes flying everywhere.

Alpine.

He was sitting on the rooftop one day and the thing just trotted over and butted his leg. In pure Alpine fashion though, when Bucky went to pet her, she just hissed and walked away.

Eventually, Bucky realizes she's just like him. Takes time to warm up until she just plonks herself on him, refusing to leave.

That's how Mel finds him one day, on his floor, sitting with Alpine curled up in his lap. Mel had gone to talk about some PR opportunity but found herself lost for words when Bucky kept talking to her while completely ignoring the fact that he had a cat on his lap.

The next day, Mel offers to help him adopt the cat.

Everyone on the team, except Walker, proceeds to baby Alpine. The only reason Walker doesn't is because Alpine keeps biting him.

Whenever they’re all training together, Walker loves to look around after he’s done something (semi) cool to see if anyone else noticed. If they did, he nods to himself. 

Yelena likes to make food for everyone but it’s usually the weirdest combination of ingredients because she’s still experimenting and trying new things 

Bucky spends way too much time monitoring Bob after he’s had a nightmare even if he seems completely fine. 

Alexei will still take any opportunity to lovingly embarrass Yelena (but now it’s extended to the entire team) 

Ava does not want anyone to know that Walker’s warmed up to her the teensiest bit. 

Bob disappears sometimes which sends the entire group into a panic, but he’s either sleeping in an odd place or enjoying quiet time in a space he’s found (he’s fond of exploring).

Bucky does adopt the stray cat that’s wandered its way into the tower and continues to bother him and only him.

Yelena was the main collaborator on their avengers uniforms.

Ava and Yelena can share a look and know what the other is thinking. 

Bob gravitates towards Yelena during group meetings, otherwise he stays back.

Bucky handles a lot of the press himself after a debacle with Walker and Alexei arguing in front of a journalist. 

Bucky still feels guilt over being apart of the avengers team without Sam, and Yelena is always the one to reassure him that at least he’s doing good. 

Walker proposed the beret and everyone told him no, but he went for it anyway and the public somehow loved it. 

Ava still feels awkward being thanked by civilians but truthfully, in her room she has pinned up newspaper cuttings of their achievements. 

Bob rejected wearing the avengers uniform despite having one made because he was fine just being there with them all, and not ‘officially’ part of the team. He’s truly just happy to be there, and have people to care about again. 

Yelena finds herself watching old videos of Natasha in action as an avenger late at night when a day has been particularly bad. 

In my neighbourhood

Inspired by @two-bees-poetry ’s August prompts, #26, in my neighbourhood

there's nothing wrong with writing a short story! there are lots of good short stories that revolve around Interesting Ideas. What if I was my own mother. What if fish people were real and also (evil) living in massachusetts. What if you were your own worst enemy, literally. lots of good short stories there, all at just the right length for a cool idea. no one is going to go see the feature-length adaptation of William Wilson though, because that's it. unless you add in a tragic backstory and a love interest and so on and unfortunately there are a lot of novels and movies running around out there that clearly were meant to be a short story before someone took them and stretched them to a silly length.

your short story doesn't even have to be short! herman melville wrote over 100 pages of a guy who hated his job so much he died of being a hater the end. good show, herman. thank you

I saw this when running newpipe. But wait, it gets deeper. I clicked on the details buttons and it said as of today,we have 83 days left until Google rolld out this new requirement for apps inside and outside of the google play store. If any developer disagrees with their new terms and fees, they will be blocked!

I'll share some of the info below:

Looks like they're trying to nuke the remaining privacy and freedoms we have left on the internet.

What to do?

-Get your developer friends to not comply to their new guides

- Sign the open letter on the site and take action by checking out thwir full resources list on their website as well!

To summarize, this is all daunting especially when you feel all alone with unfair and inhumane regulations comming out faster than improvements ut we got this working together!
