School is in few weeks and I am sure some of you are tensed and worried for the new school year but I got your backs freshmen of 2017-2018! 

By now, many studyblrs have covered this topic but I wanted to share some advice and tips for new freshmen and some of them might get personal (disclaimer). I swear, I have been in the same state as some of you and it can be overwhelming at times so, here are some things I thought freshmen should know before the school year starts!

First and most importantly, DON’T BE TOO NERVOUS!                                    

Yes, this is a basic advice but honestly this can be a game changer. It’s okay if you are nervous cause trust me, I was more nervous than y’all. Just remember that there are people just like you, scared and nervous, so you aren’t the only one. I think it’s a good thing to be ahead of things, such as preparing your school supplies (I love back-to-school shopping), checking with your friends if you guys share the same classes and a personal suggestion, get a school map if they give you one! The school map that my school gave me was soooooo helpful cause I am the type of person who will get lost in the first 5 minutes. 

Responsibilities                                                                                                     

Now that you are in high school, you have more responsibilities. Your teachers will except more from you, such as, handing in your assignments and homework on time and be ready for quizzes and tests. A good way to be organized is having a planner. Planner will help you in the long run and it’s efficient. You can get a good planner for $10 in Walmart or Target. If you want your planner a bit more “you” factor aka customized planners, brands such as personal planner and mossery are good opinions. And basics such as giving reminds in your phone for upcoming deadlines and tests are of course a must.

Join Clubs/Sports                                                                                                 

I myself made this mistake but feel free to joins clubs or sports you enjoy doing. This will help you so much and make you feel more productive and engaged. I know sometime it can be extra work but participating in a club or sports is adding onto your school record which universities gives a lot more importance than you think and you can make new friends who are interested in the same topics like you! I am currently in speech and debating club, the student council, the cultural club and badminton. 

Being Positive                                                                                                       

Personally, I think high school is the time in your life when you start understanding the complex bit of life and you know, facing new things and just exploring yourself. At that moment of your life, it can be confusing and overwhelming. You will realize that some of the people you trusted so much in middle school, isn’t what they seem like and there will be people who will try to make you feel less of yourself and drag you down. And trust me, I have been through those days and this can make you feel exhausted, unproductive and stressed. But you need to realize that life has to go on with its flow and these people, who are just plain a** bullies are doing its to make themselves feel better. It will be hard but try your best to ignore these people and just remember that there will be always some people in your life that will support you and that’s what important. Positivism is such a crucial element in your life and being positive will help you mentally and physically. 

Taking rest                                                                                                            Yes, studying and your assignments are equally important and need to be done on time but from time to time take rest and enjoy life. Take breaks, do things you love such as practicing your instrument, drawing, bullet journaling, go out for a walk, etc. You need energy to do your work after all!

Bujo spread // first week of August 🌻

This is one my post from Instagram which I really loved. I am loving the pink-blue colour scheme and just the visual of this. A bit of colour always brightens up the mood.

Lately, many people have been asking me how they should start a bullet journal. So, I came up with some of my tips and suggestions for someone who is interested to start a bullet journal. I hope y’all which like this. (No, I am no bujo-expert. I just like sharing how I started and do my bujo.)

What is bullet journaling exactly?                                                                       

This can be a complicated question. Bullet journaling can consist of your daily to-do lists, jotting down your thoughts from time to time, using it as a dairy/sketchbook/poetry book .As you can see, it’s a really open media. Bullet journal is something which reflects your creativity and ideas, something that you can customize in your own ways.

Starting your own bujo                                                                                       -

When I started my bullet journal, first I looked for inspirations. There are many talented studyblrs/studygrams whose bullet journals are 100/10. Some of them are: @baekstudies @journalsanctuary @natastudies @tbhstudying @smoinerd @cattystudiesblr . But of course, then is broad difference between plagiarism and using your originality. Your bullet journal should be everything about you and related. 

Layout                                                                                                                   

Start planning out the layout. You can either have a weekly/monthly themed spreads or just random things such as your art and “goal” or “memories” spreads. Color scheme is totally your preference and things like calligraphy, aesthetic pictures or quotes can spice up your bujo. Personally, my bujo is just a BTS themed book and bunch of random weekly spreads 😂😂😂.You can be either simple or EXTRA AND HAM AF (just like me) with your bujo. Preference is a huge role here.

Some things about me: I am a 16 years old Bengali-Canadian who loves art and maths and planning on studying architecture in univeristy. I will be starting my junior year in high school pretty soon and I am kinda excited kinda worried. I do bangla classic music, mostly taught by my parents but your girl is a kpop trash and some of the bgs and ggs I stan are: BTS, EXO, B1A4, Got7, Red Velvet, F(x), Snsd and many more as you get to know me. I am an amvibert; kinda sad kinda happy but a total cheese-ball. I can be either a chatterbox or a dead tree. And most of all, I consider myself as an open-minded person and I love making friends.
