OF COURSE ; the name GODFREY would be poisonous by now. how could he forget ? or maybe it wasn’t forgetfulness but an attempt to provoke something. an emotional response ? a traumatic event ? something lurking in the past waiting to be dragged into the light by its toes ?

IN ALL HONESTY , if he had the nerve to talk back to a small girl who could potentially ( definitely ) bring him to his knees, monty would’ve said something much worse by now. the cheek pinch prompts a smirk , eyes darting to his shoes in an attempt to hide the fact he thinks she’s right. “ i promise you this , valerie , ” the use of her full name ( which he’s positive is a rare occurrence ) is meant to portray that he means business . . . even if he doesn’t , “ i’ve never let looser than i have in the past fifteen minutes. ”

HE’S UNDERSTANDING NOW - the caliber of the meeting she’s called with him. lamont’s worked at this lovely facility for a few months now ( with all the shadiness of black market skits hidden under lock and key ) and sometimes he manages to forget that there are patients . . . that listen better than others. it’s such a shame the one that’s managed to catch a glimpse of the other side is one whose famous last name is plastered above the doors outside of the WHITE TOWER.
