I am not ashamed. 

You can look on my skin and see the scars that some might use to define me but, I am still not ashamed. 

You can plainly see that I am not other. 

Some may say I am crazy or slightly insane. 

Throw slander and shade but, I will not be ashamed. 

See me for who I am or see me how you want, just know that I won’t care or even give you a stare. 

Talk behind my back about what I've done, better yet add me in. 

I will let you walk and talk nasty about me because I know, you are not me. 

I do not care if you laugh and point at me, I know my story. 

I've dealt my pain so, I will stand tall above those and proudly say,

 I am not ashamed. 

he though the was a mystery, a closed book with a sticker that read “damaged.”

she saw him as more, more than a broken man and more than a disorder.

she saw the heart that was his, torn and ripped at ever edge by greedy hands and cursed lips.

he spoke with words that built a wall around him.

but, she knew the wall was to keep him inside not invaders out. 

with soft eyes she took the wall apart allowing him to see a safe way out. 

no thanks was needed because her wall came down too. 

he saw that her story was written on her skin while his were only caused within.

she felt sad when she saw he was holding hurt in. 

with gentle hands she touched his head that was work and his heart that was torn ad cried softly from her eyes “never again will I let you feel this pain.”

his hands fell to her waist slowly showing her she only deserved grace. 

with their pain filled lives they build a tie to fight together side by side.

she new knew love, he never knew trust but together they fought demons into dust. 

leaving them with the idea that together both hearts felt truly loved within.
