Playstation ending their own physical game disc releases by 2028 is the most ridiculous shit i've heard. What's the point of buying a console if I don't get to get physical games? I won't be able to own my shit. I wouldn't be able to lend games to a friend, and i won't be able to buy games second hand either. What makes the PS6 superior to someone just getting their games off steam? Nothing? Steam has always been the superior digital platform for games and the reason many of us went to the consoles was to get physical releases of our favorite games. It was what differentiated playstation and other consoles from Steam. The joy of getting a game in the mail that you preordered for months and placing it on the disc drive to play it is a feeling that is outmatched. The feeling of surfing your collection of discs to pick your next game- or even heading to stores and navigating the aisle to learn of games you've never heard of and picking it up to play it when you get home? Or when aisles are decorated with promotion of a new game drop and you go in stores to pick it up and admiring the box cover and art? What about gifting a friend a physical disc of a game they've wanted? A lot about physical discs is how intentional and memorable it is, digital games will never be able to replicate that. This decision will kill a large part of gaming culture. I'm genuinely really disappointed and frustrated by this step. I know people have been speaking out about the gaming industry's downfall these past few years but this was just a leap into the wrong direction. I argue this is also the WORST time to make this decision as physical media demand is on the rise and minimalism culture is beginning to die and people are waking up and realizing they don't own their shit and they're tired of it.

I FINALLY got myself my first CD player that also plays cassettes and acts as a radio and IM SO HAPPY- I collected Vinyls for a couple of years but found them to be pretty expensive to collect and I just wanted a more affordable option that is easier to care for AND pretty easy to carry around AND THIS IS PERFECT!! MY PHYSICAL MEDIA COLLECTION EXPANDS!! YIPPIE!!

everytime it’s exam/deadline season i go on a movie watching spree where i watch a bunch of movies while finishing deadlines and it’s become my deadline season tradition

I hate it that my writers block mysteriously vanishes every time I'm busy/fighting for my life with deadlines and so my every thought is consumed by what I want to write- but the MINUTE i'm free again I somehow cannot get myself to write LIKE HELLO???
