Dirty Dirty Dooka Doo

Long story short, my parents are abusive, so I didn’t want to stay with them for the summer break. I’ve been living with my sister & nephew and it’s putting a huge strain on them. My sister makes maybe $700 every two weeks which is quickly swept up by bills (rent, water, light, car payment, phone bill, internet, insurance) and leaves very few funds left for groceries. We also have to pay for laundry. I’ve been struggling to save money for my textbooks next semester. I think I’ll be able to get more loan money but the max they’ll allow me will still leave me with an out of pocket that I’ll probably have to pay with the money I saved for textbooks. I have repeatedly dipped into these savings to get food and I probably will again before school starts.

I’m looking for another job right now. When I had one, most of my money immediately went towards the groceries or helping out with the bills, so it sucks not having a steady source of income to pitch in with.

If anyone doesn’t mind donating spare change, I’d really appreciate it. It will likely go towards groceries, living supplies, or money for laundry. Anything we don’t immediately need, I will save for books. We’ve been scraping by so far, so I don’t need large sums. But even multiple donations of 1 dollar a day would be enough to make sure we can have more than one meal a day and clean clothes to wear, so please pass this along if you don’t have the money to donate.
