Hey guys. I'd like to start this series of posts with one of my favorite alternative/stoner rock LPs. The first time I heard this album, my first thought was: what the hell, this could easily be part of a play based on the freaking Mad Max universe. It's amazing. And boy, do I still hold that. If you're into desert rock and kind of utopian, this is definitely an album you'll love. The songwriting on this thing is outstanding, with epic tracks like "The Vampyre of Time and Memory," "I Appear Missing," and the self-titled "Like Clockwork," other funnier and more theatrical cuts like "If I Had I Tail" and "My God is the Sun," and more hard rock and straight-forward pieces like "I Sat By the Ocean" and "Keep Your Eyes Pealed." The riffs are fun, the lyrics are introspective, poetic, and even nostalgic. The production is exquisitely done as well. Joshua Homme has several gorgeous vocal performances here btw. My favorite song is definitely "If I Had I Tail," which featured Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys, Mark Lannegan, and Nick Oliveri on background vocals.

I'm going to be completely honest and say I didn't have fun at all during the whole damn game. Lmao. Well, it was 60% stress, 30% angst, and 10% actual fun. Definitely the best thing about this game is the setting and the level design, both exquisitely designed to make you feel small and vulnerable in every damn situation. The story is cool too, has good twists, and the lore you collect with journals is really nice. As for the gameplay itself… oof, I mean, the plasmid mechanics and their use with the environment, for its time, were fucking innovative, and the freedom the game gives you to beat it any way you see fit is really cool. But dude… the fucking hacking. THE FUCKING HACKING. WHAT A CRAPPY MECHANIC. It's poorly done, unfair at times, and it's a fucking clicking simulator to uncover the pipe tiles. It's worse when you consider that much of your survival in the game is about hacking turrets, cameras, and vending machines. I don't have much to say about the Big Daddies: they're iconic. Every time you fight one of them, you clench every muscle in your ass because it's so tense and terrifying. I love the design, and I love the lore behind the Little Sisters and Tenenbaum. Anyway, the game is an 8/10 for me. But I feel like if I had played it back in the day, I would have given it a 10.

At first I was a little reluctant to watch the movie because I thought it would be, you know, cringe and shit because, idk, my ideas or some shit like that. I really don't know why the hell I didn't want to see it. But after listening to Golden and being absolutely enchanted by how good the damn song is, I decided to give it a chance. And damn, I don't regret it at all. It's a wonderful animated film from start to finish. I loved HUNTRX's designs, the jokes (which made me laugh like I haven't in a while), the plot despite its simplicity, the animation itself, etc. AND OF COURSE, THE FUCKING SOOOOONGS, OH MY GOD, THEY ALL HAVE CRACK IN IT. EJAE vocals are out of this fucking world. Idk, I'm in love with the movie. Like I said, I don't know as much about movies as I know about music, but it's straight to one of my favorite animated films ever.
