"entry-level" jobs are asking for 1-3 years of experience, you add your part-time / freelance / temporary / internship roles in your resume to showcase the skills and experience you have, but none of that counts as working experience so even when you have the required skills, you will be rejected on the basis of not having any work experience.
master's is the new bachelor's. and i don't even mean as the basic requirement to get a job, no, because it's easier to get a job the lesser qualifications you have. master's is the new bachelor's because nobody can find a job, so obviously the next step is to make yourself even less employable.
*voice of someone craving even the tiniest sliver of control* i could make a spreadsheet,

ever since i learned abt the concept of networking i knew i was going to have to do everything alone and do it the hard way
learning that 5 minute crafts is a russian mafia operation wasn't on my 2026 bingo card but also doesn't really surprise me
its what
russian mafia operation
Hey what
oh. i’m sure its fine and normal that a video investigating the massive bot farm/slop channel shell company connections to the russian mafia and youtube’s own implication by allowing it to continue for profit has mysteriously vanished with no word from op.

Most likely, this is Microsoft crowd-sourcing AI detection.
LinkedIn is owned by Microsoft. Which makes Copilot and is hell driven on jamming AI into every product it makes, including Notepad.exe
So why on earth would they want to "crack down on AI"?
Short answer: they don't. It's a scam.
They want to train their AI on how to detect AI content, as well as improve its own generated slop so it becomes undetectable. And you, dear LinkedIn user, can help.
If you have a LinkedIn account, just delete it.
sometimes i think i talk too much about the US and the general west, especially for someone who has never even set foot in USAmerica. but then again do westerners realize just how much of an impact modern day pop culture and mainstream media and the internet (which is like 99% USAmerican-influenced) has on the rest of the world? like, do you even have the slightest idea?
even online "muslim" spaces are so dominated by western muslims, we are exposed to bits and pieces of your cultures, your lives as western muslims but rarely does the opposite happen. try to name any muslim "influencer" or content creator online and practically all of them are from the west.
the west is mainstream and the rest of the world is not.
i just got reminded that in primary school they literally told us about the Amanda Todd suicide case. does anyone know / remember that case?? she's canadian. and not to say we can't learn lessons from things that happen in other countries but i seriously cannot imagine students in the west learning about cyber-bullying and suicide because of a case that happened in Asia or Africa or literally anywhere else in the world.
and then when i was in secondary school, i remember there was this whole fuss online about this white American girl who wore a qipao to prom and I guess the Chinese Americans were not happy about that because cultural appropriation. and somehow I don't remember how but one day we ended up talking about it in class. and we were sort of debating whether it was okay or not for that white girl to be wearing a chinese outfit to prom when she's not chinese.
and i remember my classmate (Chinese) was like "oh, yeah it's not okay, cause cultural appropriation." but like. It's not even comparable because the concept of cultural appropriation does not exist here. and I'm saying this as someone who also comes from a multicultural, multi-ethnic, multi-language society. so when we discuss american issues from which standpoint are we supposed to approach it? our standpoint or the american standpoint? Clearly this girl took the american standpoint, knowing full well that this wouldn't even be an issue if a white girl or literally any non-chinese girl turned up in a cheongsam to prom here. and vice versa with other ethnic clothing as well. which is like, why are we bringing in the american mindset over here? why make another society's problems into our own?
everything is just so mind-boggling.
perhaps it is naive of me, but despite everything, despite the state of the world, despite knowing that the world was set up to work against us, i still have a very idealistic view of how my life will turn out to be.

If I ever did get too tired of this website I wouldn’t even delete I didnt spend half of my life tagging things for nothing
Language is political.
Learning a new language is political, being a speaker of any endangered language is political, being able to write in any language is political, being able to read in any language is political, speaking in any language in public is political, having the freedom to speak your native language is political, watching content in your native or second language is political, outwardly being a speaker of a language is political, making linguistic rules is political, who you speak to is political, the language you choose to use with a select person is political.
Every part of language is political.
Fixing your deen isn't only just praying regularly and reading Quran more frequently, it's also fixing your character, the way you behave when you interact with people, the vocabulary you use, the people you surround yourself with. It's about correcting your Akhlaaq.
my most Millennial trait is that i want big screen to think properly. to compose my thoughts. app exists for your thing but no website? bad bad bad not good for think, need big screen for think. i wrote this post on the small screen btw

I can’t resist drawing lily pads and revisited them for 9 pm in my hours of the day series, really thrilled with how it came out :)
every so often i remember how awesome the modern interconnected multicultural world is. i grew up getting to hear fairy tales from all over the world. africa, asia, europe, america. everywhere in between. i can have bagels for breakfast, curry for lunch, and ramen for dinner without even leaving the city limits. music and art and philosophy and technology that originated thousands of miles and years apart from eachother have come together and interwoven into something greater than the sum of its parts. its hard not fall into despair when thinking about the horrors but god. god the wonders.
