WTFNESS!?! O_O;; what the fuck actual fuck did I miss!?
ErrâŚ. Which issue is that? I want a copyâŚ.
Itâs from âBrave and the Bold #7âł, but itâs an edit. The original comic, she says âIâm going to go kill Superman.â
Bisexual author Nicole Kristal has been creating these awesome images highlighting the phenomena where bisexual characters on TV are not allowed to use the word âbisexualâ to describe themselves. Â It ties into a phenomena weâve discussed a lot here, The Missing B Word. Â Over and over again bisexual-behaving characters are gay/straight-washed or only allowed to remain attracted to multiple genders if they renounce labels entirely. Â The word bisexual is treated like a dirty word or as if it doesnât exist entirely. Â

I could have sworn they actually said Brittany from Glee was bi, but after scouring the interwebs I have no evidence to support that.
Annnnnnddd now everyone knows that I watched at least one episode of GleeâŚ
Iâm not sure Willow is a good example? Once she came out, I donât recall her ever expressing any interest in guys. In one episode where she is magically compelled to fall in love with a guy, she tries to use magic to turn him into a woman. Bisexual erasure is a problem, but the fact that Willow dated guys in the past doesnât mean she isnât allowed to be a lesbian later on. There was no point in the series (that Iâm aware of) where Willow was interested in both men and women; just the seasons before she figured out she was gay, and the seasons afterwards. Lets not start with some âgold star lesbianâ shit.Â
Glee, House of Cards, Constantine and Orange is the New Black are all great examples. I donât recognise the others off hand, but Iâm assuming theyâre accurate. Willow is one example which I think only hurts the point trying to be made.Â
Welcome to Night Vale and Phantom of the Opera both contain hypnotic inductions written into their scripts nearly literally word-for-word how I or people I know would use them and tbh Iâd say this is a trend that should be adopted more in media, but I canât see many other films/books/plays/podcasts accomplishing it with as much subtlety and finesse and quality as Phantom and Night Vale
Which episode of Night Vale are you referring to? I though Iâd listened to all of them, but I donât remember that one.Â
Please do me a favor and reblog or like this post if you are a cis person who feels 100% okay about sharing restrooms, changing rooms, and other public spaces with folks who are trans.
(Sometimes I donât know how to help the folks in my life who are trans and have to put up with bigoted shit like this all the time, but I thought seeing lots of notes on this post might help at least a tiny bit.)
Why is this an issue?Â

Pretty sure Bo doesn't need hypnosis to make someone complaint, especially her girlfriend...
Why would you use hypnosis to make someone complain? Perhaps you meant compliant? Either way, I donât know what youâre talking about, anon. If youâve got a problem youâll have to be more specific.
I think anon is referring to the post just before this one. The gifset features Bo, the succubus from Lost Girl.Â
Iâll take your word for it since Iâve never seen said show.
I'd recommend it. There are plenty of attractive actors, and there are MC plots like every other episode. Pretty sure someone involved in that show has something in common with us.Â
*LOVE* Justine in Kept.
I totally need to watch this. Anyone have a link?

As always, let me know if I missed any good ones and Iâll see if I can get you one more update before the new year.
Guys, this is season ONE of the Simpsons.
Monumentally stupid considering the âmachineryâ of capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty in this world than any system ever invented. No system is perfect, but government can curb the excesses of capitalism while allowing people to achieve whatever form of happiness they choose to achieve. Â The idea of making government into a tool to squash us all into one flat pancake of a society to fit someone elseâs preconceived notion of âutopia,â is exactly what Orwell was warning of in his book, â1984.â
Youâre aware Orwell was a committed socialist, right?
He hated capitalism and what it was doing.
I mean, not to defuse your point, but youâre actively connecting two things that do not connect, and it has been demonstrated that governments are very bad at curbing capitalist excess.
The fact communism doesnât work well either is not really a defence of capitalism, a system which has endemic, not to say systemic, issues with corruption and concentrating the wealth in the hands of the view.
Socialism and communism are not necessarily the same thing. Socialism in healthy doses means taking care of those less fortunate. Â Creating a safety net without turning it into a hammock. Â
And it wasnât just that communism didnât work, it was a disaster. Â For example, in the years prior to the Soviet Unionâs collapse, you could drive along the streets, and, when it started to rain, watch a VERY interesting phenomenon. Â Cars all along the roads would stop, almost as one, so drivers could re-attach their windshield wipers. Â Why? Because, to leave them on their cars all the time would result in their being stolen. It was a society with very little courtesy and huge corruption. There was no justice, no choices, no hope. Â If you want to see pure communism at work today, look to North Korea, where starvation is so widespread and intense that some have resorted to cannibalism in an attempt to survive. Itâs a society that will either go to war to survive, experience its own revolution, or collapse like the Soviet Union. And youâre wrong about governmentâs ability to curb the excesses of capitalism. Â We are freer, wealthier, and safer today than at any time in our history as a nation. Â Government is not perfect and there are times when fraud is discovered and must be dealt with. That has always been true, it will always be so. Â Just because we have police on the streets does not mean all crime ceases only that we see less of it.
There is no utopia, and the ironic fact is, the more we try to invent it, the more likely we are to achieve distopia, Â
No, communism and socialism arenât the same, which is why I called Orwell a socialist and dismissed communism as a flawed form of government. Theyâre two different things.
And why youâre talking about two functional dictatorships as an indictment of communism I have no idea. Neither one of them actually employed socialist principles for any length of time; once the rulership was entrenched, they stopped.
This isnât even difficult, and Iâm not convinced you and I share a nation, but letâs take one quick example of governmental inability to curb capitalism; the recent worldwide financial crisis, driven by the chain collapse of CDSs.
Did you know that a CDS was illegal for most of the twentieth century?
Did you know only one major trading bank wasnât badly hit by the CDS collapse itself but only by the knock-on economic ramifications?
Did you know that that trading bank invented and lobbied for the legalisation of the CDS?: They had a particular thing they needed it for. They got it legalised. And then they stopped doing it because in most cases it produces short-term paper gains followed by systemic collapse.
Members of the team that designed the CDS have reported total confusion prior to the collapse as they became a key plank of other investment strategies. Try as they might, they couldnât see how other banks were safeguarding against the risks.
Turns out, of course, those banks werenât safeguarding. Theyâd seen a loophole to make more money and gone for it. Those short-term gains got the people making the trades promoted, so they had no reason to look to the long term. And indeed, theyâre still working in most cases. They got bonuses the year it all collapsed, just like every year.
They were replaced by more people who took this same promotional path.
Why were CDSes legalised? Because the banks brought money and lobbyists to bear. Why was the loophole not closed? Thereâs a long history of government not closing those loopholes due to the influence the banks wield. Why do the banks wield this influence?
Because in a capitalist society they can provide individuals with what they need. And so they have the power.
This was less than a decade ago. This is what happens when capitalism is not locked down.
Governments can lock it down. But they donât. Corruption is not purely in other-countries-we-donât-live-in and a rational government must factor that in.
But they donât.
You have a nice time misunderstanding the nature of economic advancement. Itâs not going to help you to, but I hate internet arguments and I donât need to stay in this one. Iâve factchecked you up til now and provided a logic check; the rest is on you.
This has always been the claim, that communism is not socialism, but communism was meant to be a pure form of it. Â And communism wasnât (and isnât) merely bad, itâs horrible! Â There must be a balance, unfortunately, humans tend to go to extremes. Â We think pure capitalism is the way, or we think pure socialism. But neither is THE way. Â There is no perfect way, and trying to create perfection is the path to dictatorship of one form or another. Â Freedom, and opportunity, and safety, and public order must all balance imperfectly. Â That imperfection is path to improvement. Â We try, we fail, we improve. And while capitalism embodies the spirit of darwinistic improvement, socialism balances that with the need to protect, not only ourselves, but our environment and our world.
"This has always been the claim, that communism is not socialism" When you say that it's "always been the claim", are you referring to a couple of posts ago when you said: "Socialism and communism are not necessarily the same thing." Seems kind of disingenuous to make a distinction between Socialism and Communism when you want to name-check Orwell, and then equate them when you want to criticize Socialism.
Day 29: Do you have a BDSM title (e.g. mistress, master, slut, pig, whore, princess, goddess, maâam, sir)? What is your opinion of the use of titles in general?
To have a title, I'd probably need to have someone to call me that. I don't see anything wrong with titles, although I'd probably be a bit squeemish calling anyone "slut" or "pig", even if they said that's what they wanted.Â

Day 27: Do your non-kink interests ever find their way into your kinky activities? If so, how?
I'm a bit too romantic for my own good, so it's not unusal for the women in my fantasies to talk about my interests. I've also found a lot of pretty good kinky porn while browsing anime forums.Â
Day 26: Whatâs your opinion on online BDSM play?
As long as everyone's safe and consenting? I don't see any problem with it. From a personal perspective, I've got a lot of shame about my kink, so it's not something I think I could do, personally.Â
I hate that you canât queue responses to asks.
I get a lot of story requests in asks, and I like simply replying to them with the story in question. Itâs nice and streamlined, I guess. Looks nice. But Iâm trying to get into a consistent rhythm here - a story a day, build up a queue - and thatâdâŚ
âŚCan you not? Mine allows it. Hell, it FORCES me to queue, I canât just âPostâ. If I want to Post, though, I choose the âDraftâ option, and then choose âPostâ from my Drafts. Maybe that would work for you?
I love how we have the exact OPPOSITE problems. Oh tumblr⌠Thy glitches are endless.
All I have is âpostâ and âanswer privatelyâ.Â
Is it different for submissions? Iâve only had a couple of those, and I donât understand the various options for them much at all, but there seem to be a lot more. Havenât had enough to experiment with yet.
Oh well. I barely know what Iâm doing here, but Iâm getting by, I guess?
I just googled it, according to this, the option to queue comes up if you hold down ALT.Â
Day 25: How open are you about your kinks?
I Â have no idea what I would do if anyone found out about my kink. Seriously, I have had nightmares about it. I get anxiety when people use my phone or computer and have to stand there and watch, JUST IN CASE they stumble onto the browser and accidentally open up one of the websites I visit. So in summary, not very.Â
Day 24: What qualities do you look for in a partner?
I'm a sucker for affection. I tend to fall head over heels for women who show me the slightest bit of affection, so I don't think I could be in a relationship with someone cold. Kindness is another thing that's really important to me. Cruelty is the singular trait I hate most in the world, so anyone who makes themselves feel good by making other people feel bad would not be someone I could respect or tolerate being around. That's pretty much it for me. Sexual attraction is important, obviously, but I tend to find I only become sexually attracted to women after I've become romantically attracted to them. I know a lot of people say "intelligence" or "sense of humor" when they want to sound not shallow, but I don't think I believe in people who aren't intelligent or funny in one way or another. People have called me "smart", but I think I'm pretty dumb when it comes to social or kinetic intelligence, and plenty of people I've heard called "dumb" have tremendous skill in the areas. Being with someone who is intelligent in ways different to myself seems like a plus, not a negative. Likewise, I think everyone has something they think is hilarious; it's arrogant to think you're version of funny is the only correct one. You should be trying to learn about your partner's sense of humor instead of rejecting them for being different to your own, at least in my opinion.Â

Day 23: Since you first developed an interest in kink, have your interests/perspectives changed? How so?
I found out about my kink at a relatively young age. In the years since, I've changed, but I'm not sure how much that's because of my kink or because of just the process of maturing. When I started to search for hypnosis and mind control stuff, I was really intimidated by FD stuff. I felt like I was emasculating myself from it, but I didn't have any money so the free files on Hypnofantasy and similar sites was the best thing I had access to. I'm not sure how much listening to those files influenced my interest in FD stuff, but these days I'd say I'm pretty solidly in the switch side of things.Â
Day 22: What do you think is important in keeping a BDSM relationship healthy? How does it differ from a vanilla relationship?
Honestly, probably not that much is different between BDSM and vanilla, as far as I know. Listening to your partner, mutual trust and compromise are just as important in each. I guess the number one thing to be aware of in a BDSM relationship (from my entirely inexperienced view) would be the need for awareness of a partner's unspoken limits. BDSM has a tendency to attract the extreme among us, and there are times where someone in a relationship might not be willing or able to properly communicate their limits.
