The amount of trust he puts in me to treat him delicately and with care showing in the way he goes limp when I pick him up, the way he doesn't wake further than a half-sleepy stupor when I press a little morning kiss on his forehead, how he lets me hold his face between my hands. He knows he is safe with me, and it is the greatest honor I have ever been bestowed in my entire life.

He seeks me out if he needs anything or if something frightens him, knowing I will help and protect him no matter what, and somehow he senses if I'm the one struggling, coming to me and offering comfort.

He likes to lay on my stomach, purring and making biscuits, preventing me from working by occupying my hands in petting him. This has become part of my daily routine and I do not know how I've lived without it before.
